Sorry to have been in abstensia. As I mentioned to Ron Half/Stop Half/Stop in a text a bit back, I'm not diseased, just distracted. Amid the COVID-19 miasma and my back therapy, Miss Norma and I were blessed with the birth of our first grandbaby. Our son and his wife were delivered of a little girl on March 31 and all are home and doing very well. I think she may be eating pork chops next week. Despite the dicey situation, after extra cleaning (including me shaving a bit), we got to see her today. A bright moment in a strange time.

I'm not doing any heavy lifting (16 oz max), so I'm totin' light. These two have sufficed for almost a week.

I guess a few of you feel the loss of John Prine. He spoke for the the diminished folks among us and he spoke clearly. God has him now.

Congratulations, Stuart! Wonderful news! I hope you are speedily on the mend.

Beautiful pair, Dylan!

Thank you, Barrett! Wonderful pic of your 25!

Ebony and Walnut! Those are two classy folders Dylan! :D

Thank you so much, Ron! A fine Barlow pairing today, my friend.

Can you tell if there is a makers mark or a brand is on the large stag fixed blade? I think a lot of German brands exported a similar pattern during the 50s - 70s.
Yes it’s Solingen Cutlery / B.Svoboda
Made in Germany. I think mine was made in the early 60s. I know it’s at least 50 to 60 years old. My older brother had it when I was just a little guy when we went camping all the time .It’s been in my family for many years

Thanks, I got mine from an antique mall, watched it for several months before getting it for Christmas for myself. The person who had it last knew how to put an edge on it, still sharp, and I assume carbon steel. Do you know anything about the brand, any research? If you want just PM.

I did some research many years ago but to be honest I don’t remember much

It's the 2019 BladeForums traditional knife. Beautiful wood, amazing fit and finish, probably the best action of any of my slipjoints. And the backspring is flush open, closed, and at the half-stop. Good size, too. GEC knows how to make them.
Ya I was being facetious and totally agree with your assessment! I’m super lucky to own one as well!
