Yes and no...
Orthodox Church here follows the new style calendar, pragmatic as most people here are Lutherans by far, the particular Orthodox church in this town was built by the Russians in 1870s next to the barracks and prison
The prison walls have bullets holes from where prisoners were executed (murdered) during the White Terror in the Civil War 1918. The local Orthodox Church shares its premises with the Catholic congregation, another small minority here. I like those bells and people walking around the church
all standing inside, no pews/benches

Today my bride of almost 60 years made us a Pineapple Upside Down Cake and of course I helped by only putting the cherries in place and putting a timer on . We now wish that we could have some of our family and or friends in but that will not happen for a while yet .
Knife Content : Northfield 73 in my pocket today
We have one daughter living in Michigan who sends us pictures of some of the wild life that comes onto their property . And it does not take a lot to entertain me .
We wish you all a very fine special day today my friends .
Harry
Thank you Will . The Woodpecker shown is a Pileated Woodpecker . I have never myself actually ever seen one .Very nice thank you HarryI'm not a great fan of sweet stuff but I could do with a slice of your wife's cake, looks moutwatering
Epic Stag too. As for the birds, the Owl is the Ancient Greek symbol of wisdom also said to be of health too
But those Woodpeckers....
we don't have that species here but many other types- some of whom took to boring holes in the walls of my all wooden country house. Glad we have the Cat now

That cake looks so delicious Harry, my compliments to your wife. Nice photos from your daughter, those pileated woodpeckers are a bit hard to get on camera. I can't recall seeing any of those in my youth but now see them quite often while deer hunting, almost daily. Have yourself a pleasant Easter,Today my bride of almost 60 years made us a Pineapple Upside Down Cake and of course I helped by only putting the cherries in place and putting a timer on . Thank you JJ. My bad for not labeling. The cover is ram’s Horn. You’re hitting bulls eyes with those two Remingtons. Beautiful covers. Fine image.
They are not too uncommon in my area, but are still always exciting to see. They make quite a racket, too, both with the pecking noises and their harsh squawking call.Thank you Will . The Woodpecker shown is a Pileated Woodpecker . I have never myself actually ever seen one .

Thanks Gev... and I your philosophy my friend.Missed your photography skills !!!
When I was two years old, I climbed up onto a table and ate every cherry off of my aunt’s pineapple-upside-down cake when nobody was watching. Luckily, I was young enough that the family thought this was cute. Pineapple-upside-down cake has been my birthday cake since then.Today my bride of almost 60 years made us a Pineapple Upside Down Cake and of course I helped by only putting the cherries in place and putting a timer on .
