Our family grew by one yesterday as we adopted this little guy from our local shelter. He's truly a lap dog and we were blessed to find each other.

Thanks for lifting my spirits with your kind gesture. Fine looking pup.

That Big Jack has some bodacious stag my friend! :D

D Duckdog - Thank you kindly, Stuart. Beautiful covers on that nice pair of Cases.

Thanks, guys. Ron, the 85 is the one we discussed and you ID'd the double pins on the bottom of the mark side of the cover.

Dwight, I've never tried to clean a knife with battery acid, but it does have a dramatic effect. A "Study in Blue".

Nice ensemble, Harvey.

That's just about right on all points.

Spent the day in my shop with these two helping out. LT Wright frontier first & GEC calf roper.
In my easy chair back home now, sipping bourbon and viewing all the fine knives posted by you all today. Lots of good ones too.:thumbsup:

Like that small fixed blade. I have a Bradford Guardian 3.5 on the way I'm really excited about. And will have a custom slip soon for my 43.

An intriguing photo - nicely done (beautiful knives). OH
Thank you very much Bruce!!!
G'day folks :) I'm way behind, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to catch up later. Wishing everyone a safe and happy weekend

What another marvelous trio Jack; all uniquely mesmerizing with your fixed having quite a ancient Scandinavian feel!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Sincere thanks JJ, those two Scouts are beautiful :)
Outstanding JJ
Thank you very kindly Jack (times 2)!!!
What a pair!
Nice job on the leather fob, too.
Thank you very much Jeff!!!

I hope this Shradurday finds you all well!
It’s a S-W triplet for me today. An Everlastingly Sharp 100 Year anniversary 881Y, in super rare smooth yellow stag (for you who celebrate Stagurday - we must be all-inclusive on the porch!) and a 163 in black walnut. The plant is a Beardtongue.
Great choices for you Schrade Saturday; I really dig their old "Everlastingly Sharp" logo/motto, too!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Your scouts are First Class, JJ.
Thanks a lot Stuart; their shields gave them away!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I've been totin' these two today: a Case 99 1/2 swell end jack (1974) and a Case 85 physician's knife (1974).

Some awfully cool stag your totin with those fine Case knives today!;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
That CJ Barlow is superb, JJ. That Scout has such nice jigging and color.
Thank you very much good Sir!!!

Beautiful stag all around for you; I'm aways a sucker for an outstanding Sheffield lamb like your J. Crookes!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

There is a challenge going round on the net to make a featherstick out of matchstick, a feathermatchstick I suppose.

In this case size really does matter. :-D

Out of the three knives I tryied to carve it, Spyderco Chaparral did the worst job, Higonokami was OK, but penblade on that TC just nailed it. Traditionals rock!

Battery acid/Civil War relic.... it looks to me like it sat in a box somewhere, mice nested in the box, gnawed the bone for the minerals, and their urine caused the corrosion. That looks like the starter on a lawn tractor I had after mice nested under the hood. I hate mice.

So what are the details, Dwight? Any snap or walk ‘n talk left in it? Can you make it usable?

Patinus Maximus.:D

Edit: I really miss our huge local flea market. This poor old Barlow reminds me of the treasures to be had there.

You have a steady hand!

Thank you.

A linerlock, basically a Thiers 1515. There are slight variations. Can be bought readily in France, occasionally they pitch your side of the pond eg. https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/1515-linerlock-1007094.html
I like it.
I'm going to have to take the plunge into the world of French knives someday. Likely a Fontenille Pataud.
Beautiful guillochage on that one of yours.

Hello Dwight!
Long time no see. I hope all's well. I've missed your presence. Welcome back!
