What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Whew! Looks like leftover steak tomorrow evening

Whats the top one? looks a bit opinel in style but with an open lock. Is it custom?

It's a Marjacq. Long discontinued, they were available in boxwood, bubinga, ebony, olive, wenge, and white beech. Mine is ebony. They're not custom, but they were more expensive and had a street price double that of a similar sized Opinel IIRC. Not bad at all considering the ebony No. 8 sells for close to $100.

Gorgeous Durand John. How is the fit and finish on that thing? I’ve had my eye on that knife, but haven’t been able to find much info on it. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks.

Fit and finish is quite good. I am very satisfied with it, especially because I got it at a substantial discount. It is not a lightweight knife, though.

My greedy threesome today ;)

What a pair of beauties, JJ!:thumbsup::cool: I'm from just after WWII, but I don't look nearly as good as those good ole boys!:rolleyes:
Yet another notable pair, JJ!:thumbsup::cool: Do both knives have an EO notch?
Thank you very much Gary, I can relate!!! Only the Syracuse/Camillus has the EO. ;)
As is usual, I'm carrying two stockmans and two canoes this week.

Dylan, I couldn’t agree with you more about Stuart! Thanks for the compliment on my new Lambsfoot. I’m extremely happy to have it! :) Your Redmeadow is a beautiful classic fixed blade. I can see where it would be a joy to carry. The Scout is always a fine choice on its own!

Thank you, Ron. The Redmeadow is a lot of knife in a pretty lightweight package. I got it used and the maker was able to clean it up some for me - it is making for a terrific everyday user.

Because some of y’all have been showcasing Osage Orange, Horse Apple, Hedge Apple, Bois d’arc, Scientific Name: Maclura pomifera, the last couple of days! ;) And because it’s one of my personal favorites! But, I’ve also added some Rosewood, just because it’s a Lambsfoot! Y’all stay safe out there! :)

I love that Osage 47, what a treat! I've been thinking about the 47 for quite some time now and have been hoping that GEC would do another run at some point, I'd love to compare them a bit to the 93. Hoping to get something in the mail to scratch the itch a bit tomorrow but it certainly isn't a GEC.

Thank you Gary. ... and yes it certainly is.

It is always a pleasure to see that Sowbelly, Dwight, that knife is a treasure.

It has been raining all day today so I was unable to do my typical photo shoot. I had to be resigned to try some pictures in an indoor environment. I kept my carry simple.

Miss Norma wanted a fire in the fire pit on the back upper deck tonight, so I kept stacking wood with my tote today. Mahogany on walnut.

Fab photo Stuart :)

That's certainly a beauty, José!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I think I prefer the stag handle and the little man with the cane on the blade of the other knife. (I also very much like that whale-shaped knife you have, but I don't remember if it's Portuguese. ;):cool:)

Thank you very much Gary. The whale-shaped knife is French from the brand "Farol".:):thumbsup:
