What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thank you Harry. I may be sheltered in place but I’m still enjoying my knives every day! We had 45 mph winds this morning and over 1” of rain from midnight until around 10am. My yard is covered with leaves and small limbs. No damage yet, but more to come this evening. :)

Two of Great Eastern Cutlery finest there Harry! What’s those two red things growing in the foreground buddy? It looks like you may have got in some mowing today! :D
Thank you very much for the kind words Ron . Those are Tomatoes or Tomatos , or Maters . It just depends on where you are from . That is an old picture from last year . It rained on and off here so there was no mowing today . We did go and pick up an order from Wally World though .
Be safe and well my friend .

Harry

Gorgeous Durand John. How is the fit and finish on that thing? I’ve had my eye on that knife, but haven’t been able to find much info on it. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks.

Christian - To further elucidate what I said about weight, here is a picture with the Durand and several other Böker patterns that you should know well and that give appropriate scale.

Thanks John. You're pics really have me salivating. How is the weight compared to a Buck 110?

Any blade play? Up-and-down and side-to-side?

Thanks.

Solid lockup with zero play in any direction. The official weight, per Böker, is 4.3 oz, while the official weight of the 110, per Buck's website, is 7.2 oz.

Here are a couple more teaser pictures. I think I got a good example of ironwood on this one.

L lambertiana , can you please confirm that your gorgeous Boeker is NOT made in Germany?

If it was, I would get one in a heartbeat.

Thanks.

Your wallet is in trouble. The price seems to have gone up, and it is indeed made in Germany. It has Solingen on the blade, and it is my understanding that if the knife has Solingen on the blade or shield, it is made there. The offshore models just say Germany.

Sorry to hear about the rain Dylan, but I think that's a great pic, which shows off your WCLF well

Thank you, Jack! The rain is pretty typical over here, it just tends to dampen my evening plans on occasion. A fine trio you have with you today, that fixed blade is particularly interesting.

Not being a fixed blade person normally, I hadn’t known of the Redmeadows until you posted yours lately. They’re beautifully made knives. And apparently hard to obtain, based on what I’m finding out. ;) That’s a great photo of your Waynorth Lambsfoot buddy!

Thanks for the Osage compliment Dylan! The #47 Viper was one of the knives that first attracted me to GEC. If I get ambitious in the next few days I’ll do some photos comparing the #93 and #47. I’m experiencing some of the rain and high winds myself this morning. My power has went off and back on already this morning. :)

Thank you, Ron! I'll look forward to seeing your photos - no rush, especially on my account.

I've got a Thursday Trio this morning. ;) Since I'm sheltered in I probably won't actually carry all three at once, but you probably knew that! :) I wouldn't want the added weight to accidently pull down my sweat shorts! :D I've got two from Great Eastern Cutlery's 2009 roster. First I've got a Northfield #73 Scout Trapper two blade with Burnt Orange Jigged Bone handles. Next up I've got a Tidioute #53 Furtaker Moose with Antique Green Jigged Bone handles. For the good looking trio member I've got a Jack Black SFO from 2017. It's a Guardians Lambsfoot with Buffalo Horn handles! :) Y'all stay safe and well out there! :)

An excellent threesome! I always love seeing that horn from your 2017 Guardians Lamb, some of the best.

Maybe we’ll have some good weather this weekend for those photos. Thanks for the compliment on my carries. That ‘17 Horn Lamb is a special one. I really hit the Jack Pot with that one. So what do you think about that new Viper? It’s definitely a looker! :)

In Heinz Guderian's words: "Klotzen, nicht kleckern".

It's ordered, along with a Boeker Duo Hunter.

4.3 ounces? That's not bad.

OK, you convinced me. That knife has moved to the top of the queue.

It is a wonderful knife, Ron. Obviously a bit different and may not suit everyone's tastes but it is a fine testament to the stuff that those Italian cutlery firms are producing.

This pair of Queens for today. :)
Thank you JJ. The furrows and the wonderful details turn your pair of Queens into a pair of Aces. love the blade shape on the top Queen.

Such stag!
Judging by how flat the scales are, it must have been a huge antler.
Thank you Jeff. Fine looking Kershaw.love that #54.

very nice looks like a great cutter
Thank you Gary.it is definitely a slicer.

Half/Stop Half/Stop - Thank you Ron. Lovely trio. The Buffalo Horn cover are timelessly beautiful.

@Onebigbill Cool image of your Hartshead, Bill.

@Prester John. Great image Vince.
