What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A Browning A5 "Sweet Sixteen" manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (Herstal, Belgium) in 1955 and a more recent vintage GEC #48 Woodcock (my only GEC, and thanks, Ron @Half/Stop). Note the price of shells on the box. I toted the #48 as a pipe knife today and it was more than adequate (gutting hook as tamper).

Great looking knife. Love the Browning. My father gifted me a Light Auto 5 (12 Ga) 50 years ago. I dusted many a rabbit, dove, pheasant, and goose with that shooting iron:D. I've pretty much retired from hunting so that fine piece is in the possession of one of my cousins as my son and daughters didn't want it because they don't hunt:(. Used to own an Ithaca "Sweet Sixteen" pump gun but my ex-wife took that 46 years ago:mad: when she flew the coup. You can't get ammo that cheap anymore!:eek::D:D

Wow- great old Wenger!

Thank you!

I’m a bit envious as that is on my very short list. The only difference, I’d like one between 1951 and 1960 when they switched to the smaller 93mm version before moving to the 1961 Alox. Very nice indeed:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, I was taken aback a bit by how massive this knife is. Mine got buffed (which one wasn't, right?) but the scales are in great shape. I love the clip point blade of the 1908 model, but the pull on the tools is a bit overkill. The type 1951 looks great and it's stainless. Hopefully you can find a good one! The red nylon Wengers from that period are very sought after. I'd be more than pleased if I could find a type 1908 cadet. They're a bit smaller than the soldier model and because they were a civilian issue, they're stainless.

Hawaiian shirt and shorts are the uniform of the day while attending the local farmers market with my bride.
I grabbed my old beat up Berks for the first time since losing 100 lbs and Turns out some of that weight was from my feet and a pair of shoes I’ve owned 7 years is now too big!!
Nothing a 319 can’t fix so as long as I have it out into my pocket it goes. View attachment 1358137

@R.c.s.
Not to instigate a case of buyer's remorse, but you need to find a less greedy dealer. I bought mine direct from the manufacturer for just under $18 including shipping.
I agree it is a fantastic knife. I expect mine will see quite a bit of pocket time. I want to carry the other new stockman I got first, though.
