Jerry Halfrich: "Hidalgo" Lockback (CPM-154)...the antidote to stormy weather...

Like it !

Thanks. The beauty is that though it has fairly thick random weave carbon fiber scales, it's linerless and at 4.25" closed it still only weighs 2 1/4 oz. You don't even know it's in your pocket.

Gives a great grip, wet or dry, and locks up like a bank vault.

These two have the duty today. I just hope the new owners of Queen keep these patterns. Just tighten up Q&C and put better grinds on them.

#759 will be with me today. The fit and finish of this knife rival the top slipjoint makers. ( yes, I have climbed that flow, called the Hydromonster, Yellowstone Park)

Kris, I've done a few ice climbs in the White Mountains (NH) and Adirondacks (NY) but nothing as spectacular as what you have out west.

I was primarily a rock climber and mountaineer and was fortunate enough to climb some great rock in the Wind Rivers, Wrangells (Alaska), Yosemite (none of the big walls) and back east.

I've always been impressed by some of the great ice climbs but liked keeping my Dachstein's dry. :p

Man, there are terrific knives here over the past week!

Other than the new forum knife, I've been carrying my Fontenille Laguiole lockback. This knife just makes me smile.

Imperial jack on this wet and windy Monday.

My cheap auto focus camera chose to remind me with this picture that the edge of this hurricane has completely undone all my yard work completed last week.

That's great to know, Elliott. I have been lucky enough to climb some of the great climbs and ranges myself, looking foward to this season, a few big ones planned. Take care, Kris

Went out a little heavy today - Buck 110 on the belt and a Friedrich Hartkopf Solingen with ebony handles in the pocket :)

I used the Imperial jack I had in my pocket this morning to open a package containing some new arrivals, and one of them, a Craftsman peanut by Schrade, has kicked the Imperial out of my pocket for the rest of the day.
