What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It may be fully automated these days, certainly on the scale your grandfather worked. One of the few areas wire is hand wound or weaved is in the more esoteric audio manufacture, for transformers, etc.; Audio Note (British) comes to mind. I'm a huge fan of British audio (like the famous Tannoy, Bower & Wilkins and the BBC patent LS3/5As, to name a few.) :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you so much, Jack!!! The French duo are perfect for today's food fix'n.:)

That's very interesting JJ  The first big boom in wire production in Sheffield was caused by the demand for crinolyn dresses! :D My grandfather worked for Tinsley Wire (TWIL) for almost his entire working life, being their 6th employee (No6 Hammer). A belated Bon appetit JJ! :D :)

Did I send you that wire thing Gary? I remember having one some years ago, it had quite an interesting story behind it, though I forget what it was called

Two great ones.

Good morning! How y’all doing? I’m totin’ a Tidioute #92 Talon Spear and my large Wright’s Rosewood Lambsfoot today. It appears to be a somewhat rainy Thursday and we really need it. Stay safe out there! :)

Throwback Thursday. Actually all of my recent post (and future post) will most likely be A Trip Down Memory Lane. As a lot (if not all) of the knives posted I still own, and features the knife I'm carrying today (or that day). :)

I guess it's like the saying says, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." And I really like how these photos turned out (making me even more reluctant to recreate them, LOL). Not to mention there's 700+ (including Moderns, but they're mostly Traditionals). :D

So I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do :thumbsup:. Hope everyone's having a wonderful day !!

Thanks Jack! I would have never guessed that dresses created the initial wire demand! Love this image of the "wire world" your grandfather was deeply involved in; 6th employee, wow!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow, that's a nice group!

Thank you, Jack.

You know I like black and white pairings, and that's a fine one.

Thanks Rachel :)

Toting a pair of Barlows, a thrifty "barn find" from Kabar and a super slicer from Sheffield. :)

To the extent that some of the early cutlery wheels converted to drawing wire!  Thank you my friend, nice pair of Barlows :)

It’s beer o’clock.
