Woke up at 4:30 this morning and realized I was done sleeping - only two hour drive north to the Pamlico River where rumor has it Specks are being caught. Hit the road at 4:55 - let’s see; ice chest - check, rods - check, tackle box - check, license - check. Down the road I think pocketknife? - Uh Oh - car knife to the rescue (always keep a few squirreled away). Schrade USA 897UH did the job. OH

My first GEC, which no one likes. o_O
But that I don't think it's so bad, even though he's small... ;):)

The 38 special is an oddity in some respects, but that's not a good enough reason for not liking&carrying one. I have one in Bocote, the wood's beautiful but I don't use the knife-wouldn't mind a user version though.

That Lag is really impressive though :thumbsup:

Strange and/or Weird and/or Odd and/or "What the HeCk is going on?!"

When I went to bed last night, in my right front pocket were the Northfield 852211 Harness Jack, the Marbles MR431 D2 Sow Belly Stockman, and a wee bit of lint.
When I got up for breakfast up roughly 7 hours later, I found in my right front pocket the Northfield 852211, Marbles MR431 D2 Sow Belly stockman, a (BTI) Old Timer 858OT, and a wee bit of lint.

The cabinet I keep my not being carried knives and axe was still locked solid with a cable wrapped through the handles so the doors can't open, and "U" lock. The keys for that "U" lock was still under stuff in the tote/shopping bag on one of my Rollators.

I didn't/don't go wandering about in my asleep, or any portion thereof.

As a former over the road truck driver (before I was forced to retire, due to medical reasons) I learned to sleep with everything on but my boots or shoes. A "habit" I've not busted in the 4 years since I retired.
(thanks to an operation on my right hip back in the 1975's I can't feel the knives (or anything else) in my right front pocket, or the Buck 110 on my right hip when I lay on them. :D)

I don't know how my 858OT got out of the box it came in, out of the locked cabinet, traveled the 30 feet from the cabinet to my bed, and into my pocket sometime between 23:57 and 07:10.

Oh well ... I guess my (BTI) Old Timer 858OT wants to be carried so much that it would go through all that, I guess the least I can do is add it to the two already in my pocket for the week. :)

This is not a fictional tall yaRn. I couldn't make something like this up if I wanted to. My imagination ain't nowhere near that good enough.

Two Trappers for Tuesday. The 293 Jeff sent me looks like a peanut next to the Mesquite bigboy. Thanks again Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund ! Ole Yeller is in the pocket to prompt boldness on a day I’ll certainly need it!!!

The scales are interesting! I just got my hands on one (after a long search!) and it's a tad different. My scales are smooth, and I don't have that swedge on the spearpoint. Very interesting knife. I am absolutely over the moon to have found mine! Thank you for sharing!

I’m glad you got one! Those scales are likely the same as yours ~ they are smooth. They called it Ivoroid, or French Ivory. I don’t think the material is celluloid, snd I’m relatively certain it’s not delrin, either. Is yours an advertising knife? A LOT of them out there were made for felt and paper mills.
