That's awesome, Will! Killer stag! Its not shiny or MITBut it's got a certain beauty and I like using it, GEC 83. Sunny Sunday here but autumn beckons...let's all enjoy our day wherever we may be.

Cool picture! Nice looking knife, as well!![]()
Again today, but this time I cut up an apple for my bosses horse. I also did a bit of whittling on a oak burl, trying to whittle a wooden ball.
Thank you sir. That patriotic bone Case of yours is a nice pick as well.

That is a great picture there! Well done!We finally had some much needed rain last week, so the mushrooms & fungi back growing in the woods.

I have the 301 forum knife from a couple years ago. Great knife. I don't carry it too often because it's a little larger than I like generally. But every time I see these black 301s posted, I think I gotta get me one of those. Seems like sound reasoning, huh?Buck 301 today:

Wishing everyone a restful Labor Day!
Thanks for asking John! With some things that happened it seemed like a good time to step back and spend some time away from the forum. Our daughter has been in for a visit so I’ve just been spending some quality time with my family.Where'sHalf/Stop Ron been?
I have the Forum knife too, but I prefer the standard 301. Several reasons: the Forum knife has nice elk scales, but the sawcut Valox (or whatever it's called) on the standard 301 gives a great grip. Also, it's thicker and feels better in the hand. And I prefer having three blades on my stockmans. Also, the steel on the Forum knife is fine (CPM 154), but it's harder to sharpen. The standard 420HC is great, easy to sharpen, and gets wicked sharp. Plus, the Forum knife has sharp edges on the bolsters and is not as comfortable to hold and use as the standard 301. I am glad I have the Forum knife, but I carry the regular stockman far more often. You should get one--it's a classic. I think the only thing I don't like about it is that the pull is kind of light. Compared to my Case and GEC knives. But I have had no problems using it.I have the 301 forum knife from a couple years ago. Great knife. Happy Birthday, Ron!I thought I’d drop in for a quick visit. I hope y’all are doing well. I’ve been celebrating my birthday today with my family. Lots of food and a little relaxing for the old man.In the pocket I’ve had a wee Sambar Lambsfoot that I got from my good friend Jack @Jack Black and my Micarta TC Forum knife. Y’all stay safe out there!
