I always wanted one of those. I've never seen one in the flesh, but that photo is good enough. Ed J

Do try and pick one up if you can matey, the fit and finish is quite outstanding for a production knife, I have a stack of Al Mar's (the man was a blade hero imho) they have a nice tapered tang and it's oh so comfortable in hand. I kept it for years as a draw queen ...but... but well you know some knives call in the night ...use me you fool :) BTW the folder of that time are pretty fine too, blade on this one is the same size and shape as the PR.

had a seminar all day today and broke from my regular knife to carry an aitor castor pequena. though i didnt use it for anything. lol

So today was interesting, took my father and uncle (who are in town visiting) to see some of the sights
so we drove down to Port Gibson in Mississippi (The city to beautiful to burn). We had heard about the nuclear power plant there and supposedly they did tours. So we drove the 90 minutes to find out that they did NOT do tours..ah well.

I got this cool pic for our troubles

Turns out there was a military park just around the corner from the plant, battle of port gibson from the civil war and so we did the tour. I am not gonna post alot of pics from there, but a few i thought were pretty cool. This first one is a tower that overlooked the river. Now 150 years ago the mississippi river was MUCH closer to the fort than it is today. Today is probably 200 meters from the tower but you can still see the river from the top..which we climbed up and checked out

Now I do have a couple of knife pictures, see i brought this back on topic ;). This first one is just a cool shot in the woods, unfortunately it was sunny out and i was moving faster than i wanted and the knife isn't in as much focus as I would have liked, but i'll post it anyways.

This second pic is around a large hole in the ground, its got a wooden fence around it. This was the ammunition bunker, apparently when the confederate soldiers knew their position was untenable they blew the ammo dump and left this giant hole in the ground. I thought it made a cool pic and so i am sharing it with you.

anyways, as always my edc was this

We are going to New Orleans this weekend so I am hoping to have some more cool pics when we get back!

Going over to Sheffield today, so I'll be carrying my Abram Brooksbank in the Mark 1 leather and denim pocket sheath I sewed the other night :)

You are most welcome. Thanks for your comment.

For today, in anticipation of the coming rain...

D@MN!
I think I just found my slip joint grail!
Everything about this knife is awesome!
Beautiful FULL maroon micarta scales,
Great modern steel,
Perfect 2-blade selection with the clip and wharnie!
I've noticed the ALSDORF name before, HMMM. . . . . .

I think you'll be very pleased with Mike's work. He builds a very clean and precise knife and delivers it with well honed edges.

Today is Bullet day. I'll be carrying three separate lockbacks all paying homage to the classic Remington 1306 of yesteryear. Overkill? Definitely. I rarely switch knives during the course of the day...but since I couldn't decide just which one I wanted to carry I decided to just make an excuse to carry them all. :p

I carried this 4.5" stag & forged 52100 version by P.J. Tomes this morning on my walk with Smoky:

After returning home, I replaced the Tomes with this 3.75" version by Joel Chamblin featuring stag & ATS-34:

This afternoon, when I go into town I'll be carrying this 3 3/8" model by P.J. Tomes in stag & 12c27.

Stich, is there improper (cross cultural, no less) fraternization going on between those knives? (Although the Laugiole clearly has a nice butt. ;))

:p

Discliamer: Get your minds right and out of the gutter. This is, after all, the Traditional Forum. :D

How apropos...Perhaps that's why "Nuts!" was the given response by McAuliffe at Bastogne!

(Admittedly, within the Ardennes in Belgium, but a mere technicality. ;))

VERY nice P :)

Thanks! It helps to have a stunning tree to do the heavy lifting-- or falling, as the case may be.

Good light, a beautiful bed of leaves (and happy knife, natch), and voilà. :-)

I really enjoy carrying this knife.

Me, too! Or rather, seeing your picture reminded me again of how much I enjoy mine, and bumped it into my pocket for the day.

Hmmm, if nothing else, you can almost always tell that my knives are fresh from my pocket for their photo shoots-- Linty Fresh.

I have the Western Union telegram that was sent to my grandfathers family when he was shot in the Rhine region.

Well done, Stich. (I've read that one and many of Ambrose's other fine histories over the years.)
