I can rarely remember what steel my stainless knives are made from, I just think of them as 'Alphabet Soup'

I have this silky smooth and svelte Cattaraugus ‘lectrician on me today, and in the interest of old friends from Little Valley, my only other Catt is on my belt.
The 225Q was an auction find from back in the ‘80s. It lived in a tool box inside a sheath made from cardboard and duct tape.
A couple of years ago, I undertook the tedious but hypnotic job of restoring it. Primarily polishing out all of the damage done by an imbecile armed with a bench grinder. Also removed splatters of paint from the leather handle, and peened that all nice and tight as it should be.
Finished with a forced patina with hot apple cider vinegar, and a new sheath.

Some like to call the little doodad at the end of our knives a bail. Camillus, in their 1946 catalog, calls it a shackle. Since my knife is a Camillus, I will try to use the appropriate nomenclature.
