What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks friend. Can’t go wrong with a Barlow
I just wish there were more in current production that are easy to obtain. Case has a nice selection but too few in CV.

Agreed.

Although, I am enjoying my Bokers.

Great photos Dean

Thank you, Jack. :)

Sowbelly Stockman of the Week is a Rough Rider in smooth tobacco bone:

"Regular" stockman this week is an Uncle Henry 897UH (thanks, Dean):

Budget canoe this week is a Rough Rider amber jigged bone model. It's the first canoe pattern I ever handled, and I've had difficulty NOT buying every canoe I've seen since then :

Premium Canoe of the Week is a Fight'n Rooster 4-blade canoe:

Your 897UH stockman is a real beauty, Gary.:D My unbiased opinion, of course.

Also, the Fight'n Rooster canoe looks like the just right combo of blades; where would you place it in your list of canoes - #48, 22, 7 or 1? Canoe neophyte question.:)

I've seen a few complaints, but overall I think Case did a good job on that run of Barlows. I keep going back & forth between Barlows & stockmans, with the Churchill thrown in occasionally. And it's this one today.

Superb example, fine colour to it as well

A Barlow is always a tough working type, the Churchill a nice interesting carry, but a Stock knife sweeps the board :D

I used to switch between a variety of knives weekly but lately I’ve had no desire to replace this one. I think I’m going to focus my efforts on Barlows from now on.
I switch daily, not weekly, but each day, whatever I chose, I could get by with if I had to.
I do have a couple patterns that I seem to be accumulating more, though.

I saw a werewolf drinking a Piña Colada at Trader Vic's....

Awesome, Charlie. The Opinel is one of my perfect knives.

Also today for me:

Nope. I saw him with a chinese menu in his hand walking in the streets of Soho in the rain.

Have to use some Old Pics on this very wild day . The electric has finally been turned back on after heavy rains and 75 MPH winds as well as a 30 F drop in 4 to 5 hours .
Northfield 74 Ironwood

And this TEWs Lambfoot

Glad you didn’t get blown away, Harry! We didn’t get any of that wind, but we did get the temperature variation. Went from shorts weather on Monday to 5 inches of snow yesterday afternoon/evening.

Your Ironwood #74 is looking good!

A Happy Veterans Day to all of you have served our great country! We owe you all a great debt of gratitude!:) I thought I'd carry some Ironwood since it's Wednesday. ;) I hope y'all have a safe day! :)

Good looking pair, Ron! Your #74’s looking good, too, but I don’t think it can beat the Ironwood on that Guardians Lambsfoot!

130th Anniversary Opinel, serialized, with an anodized Sandvik blade and Hornbeam handle
(stable wood used for wood planes!)
Seems appropriate to carry a French knife today!:cool:View attachment 1453130 View attachment 1453131
{scratches are on the scanner glass}

I hadn’t seen that one, Charlie. Pretty cool looking!

Old photo (there’s more patina on the blade now), but I’m carrying this one again today.

Thanks a lot Barrett for the kind words . We went from 75 at around 3:30 to about 35 F when I went to the sack at 11:00 .
I would appreciate it though if you could keep the snow up there until I get my leaves picked up tomorrow . Maybe I need a Bull Buster like yours someday , but probably not . At 80 , I need very few additional knives .

Getting late in the evening because I was trying to get the latest version of Family Tree Maker loaded . Finally got it done . Will use old pics and since this day ends with a " Y " , I carried Stag today . First the Northfield 73 and then a Northfield 74

Just have to get some newer and better pictures of this Stag .

Really like both of them a lot .

Harry
