What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Since it is Saturday , and since the day ends with a " Y " , I am carrying 2 Stag today . My Old Stag Pruner and a Northfield 26 Sunfish that has a blade that was made in 2012 but I got it in 2017 . Some of the 2012 Stag Northfields had the UNXLD shields , but not all of them . I was able buy this one right in front of Travman Travman at the Rendezvous . Please excuse the old photos

The Pulls on the 26 are about 9.85 .

Harry
That is some wonderful stag on both of those knives Harry. I do remember you picking up that 26 in the store. I bought a clip point “S” Store version right after you.

I am saying goodbye to these two GEC’s. They are part of a trade with my brother-in-law.

Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend. I've been trying to post all morning, but my phone keeps ringing  It was raining heavily when I started out, but is sunny outside now  Think I'm going to be busy indoors unfortunately, but at least I've got swanky pockets! :D ;) Have a great Sunday everyone

Thanks Jack. I've been doing a lot of it this weekend, mostly with small frames and pickle forks.

That's a great pair you've got today. The Davison is pretty sweet!

Sticking with the 47 stockman again today.

I’m not sure what processing you did with your photos, exposure, maybe, but I like it.
Wunnerful pair ‘o jacks, Buddy!

Another victim of the Emerald Ash Borer, this old ash has been dead for several years, but finally came down in the recent winds. It has/had three main trunks, and when my boys were little, we built a tree house up in it. Sure hated to see it succumb to the blight.
The base, which must be close to three feet thick, is lying on my fence. The two main trunks in this photo were hung up in my walnut trees (severely damaging three of them), and I had a bear of a time getting them on the ground where I felt safe using the chainsaw.
No need for knives, but I made up for it with last night’s supper.View attachment 1455409View attachment 1455405 So to get to the topic of what am I totin’,
A Case Barlow and a bone handled jack I made out of a TL-29.

You have a lot of knives with outstanding bone, Dean, including these two!:cool::thumbsup:

Chores are done - ready for winter now BUT today has been a perfect warm and sunny day. Nothing more to do then simply sit in the woods and be at peace. Nice huh? I wish you all peace too!

That's an exquisite photo, Ray, and I really like the looks of that knife!:cool::thumbsup: An Otter model?

I envy the job your new 74 had!!:cool::cool: The "shepherd's pie" looks delicious!

I’ve been carrying the Wenger Standard Issue as my secondary down and dirty edc and sometimes as my only knife. I’d forgotten how nearly perfect it is. The alox covers appeal to me and are virtually indestructible. The spear point blade is a great size even if it’s smaller than I usually carry. The tools are a good variety. A large flat head screwdriver with bottle opener, a smaller screwdriver that works on most phillips heads with a can opener and an awl that gets used in more ways than I can count.
Today it’s paired with a blue denim RR swayback.View attachment 1452043
Starting the week out with the handy Swiss totes. :)
Alan & JJ, carrying those old Soldiers seems so appropriate for the week of Veteran's Day!:thumbsup::cool:

A little yard work this morning. Imperial serrated liner lock for the nasty stuff and the Mini for anything else.

That serrated Imperial looks like it can do some serious work!:thumbsup::cool:

What a majestic muskrat! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

this one has seemed to have wriggled its way back into my pocket, it has a way of doing that. Seems it is a natural for me, day after day it just rides comfortably, accompanying me and doing what an EDC does best, cutting those things that need cutting...and not being noticed when not needed.
When I first joined BF, my heart would skip a beat whenever you posted that ebony 2-blade toothpick (and you posted it frequently IIRC)!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Great to see it back here again lately; it looks even better than I remember!:cool::thumbsup:

Forgot to post my carry today! :D Got my pocket-hogging Hartshead Barlow, and a Random Tuesday Schrade Landshark, a thoughtful gift from @r8shell :)

I'm so, so happy to finally land one of these little green #14s. It just makes my day! Thank you, @MCar!

A Happy Veterans Day to all of you have served our great country! We owe you all a great debt of gratitude!:) I thought I'd carry some Ironwood since it's Wednesday. ;) I hope y'all have a safe day! :)

Do you remember that old dance show on TV called Soul Train?
Fantastic to see you back on the Sköl Train, John!:cool:;)

Your 897UH stockman is a real beauty, Gary.:D My unbiased opinion, of course.

Also, the Fight'n Rooster canoe looks like the just right combo of blades; where would you place it in your list of canoes - #48, 22, 7 or 1? Canoe neophyte question.:)
Thanks, Dean; the 897UH is the standard by which I judge other medium stockman patterns.:thumbsup:
You caught me off-guard with your canoe-ranking question!:rolleyes: The canoes I have with more than 2 blades tend to rank highly due to their relative rarity and the fact that they often give me the stockman blade combo I favor in the symmetric, smooth-profile frame I favor. But there are some of my 2-blade canoes that probably rank higher than any of my canoes with more blades than usual. A dependable ranking would require more analysis, but I'd estimate that the 4-blade Fight'n Rooster is certainly in my Top Ten (but probably not Top Five).

I'm carrying my Case Army mini-canoe for Veteran's Day. My Dad was in the Army during WWII and I was in 1972-1980.

Carried the same Kabar Medium Stockman today that I carried on exercises in Germany, the USA, and during OIF in the waning days of my Army career. Happy Veterans Day to all our Veterans! OH

Have you read Ghost Fleet?
I had not read this, so later I erroneously googled "ghost ship" and wondered why you thought a cruise ship horror movie was relevant. I went back to your post, found the correct reference, and decided that Ghost Fleet might actually be enjoyable fantasy!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I saw a werewolf drinking a Piña Colada at Trader Vic's....
I think I saw him, too. His hair was perfect?
I love the alliteration in "Little old lady got mutilated late last night...."
Nope. I saw him with a chinese menu in his hand walking in the streets of Soho in the rain.
Lee ho fook’s it was
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim!
You guys crack me up! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup::D I don't need Netflix or some other streaming service; I get more entertainment than I can handle right here on The Porch!:p:thumbsup:
BTW, I hope Neil Young will remember that a southern man don't need him around anyhow.

I think I can make room for the top three knives in this pic for Thursday.

Thanks, Gary. That is a wonderful gift from @Âchillepattada, made by Stephane Thomachot. The pattern is called le Langres. Reminiscent of a sheepsfoot, the the edge is not quite straight. Excellent slicer. I belive the steel is XC75, but will confirm soon--I wrote it down somewhere. Beautiful stag on each side, and understated but classy filework on the back spring. I have to go somewhere in a little while, but will try to take more photos of it today.

Thank you Gary. Was a fine respite.

The knife is a custom L'AURILLAC by French master - Pierre-Yves Joyeux
Monsieur Joyeux's
shop is called Atelier la Clef des Champs (The key to the fields is the literal translation but in French la clef des champs has the colloquial meaning of liberation)

Thank you, GT. :)

I remember it, never watched it, but I remember seeing it while surfing through our five channels. ;)
Thanks! I've been digging the smaller knives of late.
