What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looks good!

Didn't want to clog this up with the same knife everyday, but these two have been in my pocket for the past week (and today). I am liking the patina that is forming on the 86 from cutting my apple with it.

Excuse me while I stare :p:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's strange to me, considering how often you come across an old mechanical Timex that's still running, how little respect they get. Yes they were inexpensive, but they were very good watches.

One thing about the old Timex is that they would take a beating and keep working. This one is a new one styled like an old mechanical, it's quartz and uses a battery. Not sure how robust it may be. Only inexpensive watches I could find with just a dial and no day/ date. I tend to break straps and lose watches, or seriously scratch/ break cyrstals.

I have an old Seiko dive watch that's going to cost me more to repair than buying a new one, and I don't like the new ones. I've always wanted a Speedy Pro, but that's a lot of coin for something I'd be afraid to wear and use.

I try to avoid days and dates. Even if they don't stop working, I can't read them without a loupe. Of course nowadays wristwatches are big enough to read in a church tower from across the square, but I don't want one of those.
A flea-market or estate sale mechanical, with my kind of dial:

These two can honestly handle 99% of the knife work I perform.

Truth. I always think that when I’m toting a stockman or whittler with a side of SAK!
If I admitted it, the Wenger Esquire on my key ring woyld hanfle most chores~ if keeping my nails in guitar playing condition, and taking care of those weird hairs that like to pop up in unfortunate spots counts!:rolleyes:

You messed up the saying!
Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
Anyway, good watch for rough ‘n tumble. My wife gave me a Wenger about 20 years ago, that won’t die.

Classic.

Mine's large enough for my eyes to easily see, but not massive. And the backlighting when I need it helps in low light. Might try a knife pic this evening with the glow...

yes this is the one. I wanted an end cap and at the time it wasn't able to be done, so they suggested the Micarta . I waited the 5 years and haven't regretted any of it.
