Is that salt? :eek: Our roads freeze over now and then, but our cars don't get the rust damage.
Notable pair of knives, Rachel! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Hang in there, and I hope your weather improves soon. (Salt doesn't seem to me to be as damaging as it used to be, probably because car bodies incorporate a lot more plastic panels than was the case when cars were "tin cans on wheels".)

That Harvest Orange Humpback is heavenly, Mike! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

High class Clauss, Les! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Captivating bone/stag combination, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

A 72 and a 74

Distinguished duo, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::cool: (Do you have a 73? I wonder who could put together the longest string of knives with consecutive model numbers? :rolleyes:)

Taking this, into the evening.

That consummate canoe could make ANY evening "some enchanted evening"! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I'm carrying this one for TC Tuesday. Personally, I am sick of shoveling snow. :( The TC provided a nice balance today.

Admirable knife, Dean! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I can relate to your comment about shoveling, although I haven't shoveled since Wednesday morning, and I already see vast improvement in the cracks in the skin at the tips of my thumbs and fingers. ;)

Amazing Alox rainbow, José! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today a JJ Martinez Mariner (Plastic black scales with a white Anchor) that I re- scaled in old Oak.
That handle looks great! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: I have one of those knives, and its a favorite of mine. Here's a pic for comparison to your impressive re-handle:

Virile vintage pair of old Schrade, Steve; the electrician knife is especially cool! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Waiting in the car for my daughter to finish her music lessons.
I am in good company today !

Congrats on your new 15, Dan! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: (I used to spend a lot of time waiting in the car during music lessons/rehearsals, but that was more than 15 years ago.)

Stimulating textures on both knives, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Toting these two wood covered lock backs today; a Le Camarguais from the South of France and a good old Buck 112. :)
Striking pair, JJ; the cross/heart/anchor bolster stamp always moves me! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Distinctive pair, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks. I haven't seen a 3-layer non-SAK scout elsewhere either. It isn't marked. It has steel liners, so I wonder if it's something like a Kent or Camco. Somebody suggested Colonial, but the jigging is different from my Colonial ForestMaster of pre-shell-handle days. Maybe an Imperial? My problem with all of the above is, when did any of the above not stamp their knives? I can't even be sure it's American, because Grandpa used to go back and forth to England. He was doing well in Cleveland after a rocky start.
Thanks for your research results and ruminations about your grandpa's old scout knife. :)

Quite the excellent quartet Gary; your white bone/@r8shell canoe is fabulous! :cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Nice group of knives, Gary. I especially like seeing the fine scrimshaw work Rachel did on the white bone. I think the Native American themed design she chose works great on that pattern.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Nice grouping you have there! They all look mighty nice. @r8shell is very talented.:)
That's an absolute gem that Rachel created for you. :cool::thumbsup:
...
Excellent line-up Gary, but I don't think there's any doubt about the Star of the Show :cool: @r8shell 's outstanding scrimshaw makes that RR Canoe really special :cool: :thumbsup:
...
I agree that you RR stag stockman is "a sweet knife," Gary. And Rachel's @r8shell work takes "fancy" to a new level. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks for all the kind words about Rachel's artistry on my canoe. :) I asked her to decorate the pile side in some kind of Native American canoe fashion. I sent her some photos of the place on Lake Huron my wife, daughter (usually), and I have gone for vacation for about 30 years, and asked her if she could use them to do something with the mark side bone, and she came up with a great composite of several photos (with a definite nod to the blade etch on some Case canoes). :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

Internet's back up. Yay! Just in time to thank everyone for their kind comments, and show the latest knife & rosemary photo:

Your ebony lambsfoot is icy cool! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
Maybe the warm compliments from BF members above can drive some of the glaze off the rosemary. ;)

Very handsome :) :thumbsup:

Thanks, Jack. It has been difficult to put it down since it arrived. Yesterday was my third child’s birthday—she loves yellow, so it will go to her when she’s ready. All four of my children have at least one GEC set aside for them, as well as a SAK field master, and a fixed blade.

The scene in your last pic has make me very jealous! I think I’ll hike again tomorrow!
