What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

What a magnificent combination; the GEC is almost a "Mini-me" of your Hartshead, very cool!:D:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've got these two strawberry Robeson jacks with me, one wearing bone and the other in "thrifty" Delrin. :)

LOL! Thanks JJ :D :thumbsup: You are fond of strawberries my friend, and who can blame you with those two vintage beauties. From your photo, I would never have guessed that was Delrin :cool: :thumbsup:

It’s melting :thumbsup::cool:

As usual, I'm carrying a couple of stockman knives this week, a Rough Rider Silver Select sowbelly and a yellow Kutmaster (thanks, Mike):

Well you are doing exactly what I will be daydreaming about while sitting at my desk. Have a good time and be safe out there! Oh yea, dont forget to post knife pics occasionally.
Thanks pal, no new pics today but yesterday was a good day outside.

I used to have a pre '64 model 88 in .308win. I regret selling it. My dad still hunts with his. Looks like you'll have a fun day. Enjoy!
I’ve hunted with a 308WIN version for the past 27 or so seasons, there are a few still out there.

Old Hunter Old Hunter

Looks like you are set for a nice weekend. Enjoy!
About tome to head back to the woods and find where they’re tree gobbling at.

Have fun! You remind me ~ this is when the big northern pike move up our little tributary rive to spawn. Maybe I’ll get down there tomorrow.
How big are those shad? When we lived on Lake of the Ozarks, when the shad were running, that was time to follow them quietly in the boat and nail the white bass that were always right below them!
We get mostly Hickory Shad here, about 13”-14”. A big Roe Female will be 15”, maybe 16”. We get a few American or White Shad, they’ll be bigger but are considered threatened- throw them back in. OH

This arrived yesterday, took nearly a month from England..our Postoffice is a farce these days, TWO days a week delivery or notifications and often you go to the Postdesk in a grocery shop with a notification only to be told it isn't actually there...:mad:

Anyway, I had contacted the maker about a knife and found him very friendly yet straightforward, he warned me his wait time could be 6 weeks due to Covid restrictions but in the event he made the knife in a month which was very fair. The Pruner is 10cm/4" closed, carbon blade with Bog Oak scales which are very well finished and look like Ebony except for grain. I asked for a stainless bolster as I dislike large amounts of brass on a knife and I think it suits it very well. I'm very pleased with the F&F no gaps, no play, blade centre, strong action, excellent finish on backspring and spring cut off, flush in open and closed. It's very welcome to get a knife that pleases you and is devoid of the 'but for this' factor :D Roll on snow disappearing and getting out to prune :cool:

Excellent knife, Will.;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today with this knife from A.Wright & Son, Lamb foot in buffalo horn.;):thumbsup:

Nice!

I really should break down and get one of these while I still can... Every time I have a knife budget I put it off, either too expensive or I don't want to wait a month for it to cross the pond. But pictures like that make me feel terribly foolish.. ;)

Man, those are nice covers! Did you pick that one out or did you just win the lottery! :D

Yes, and yes... found a dealer on the 'bay that had them listed individually with pics of each knife. This was the first one I looked at. Started to look at others but I do believe in luck of the draw when getting knives, so I went with it 'cause it was the first.

pics didn't do the brightness and colors full justice, but it wasn't a blind buy either. :D

Today’s carry is the pride of my collection. Its an absolute looker! The raindrop damascus takes an INSANE edge. I put my touch on it and now its so sharp the the hairs on my arm jump up and run away before it even touches them!
