What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Funny you should ask...
These two get carried a LOT because they are so wonderful in-pocket and in-hand. Hard to pick a winner between them.

Thank you very much. :)

You've been taking some really cool pictures, very entertaining.:thumbsup:
Thanks for the info. I have been looking into knives with similar handle shapes just because they look very comfortable - I also really like a straight edged blade.
Thanks for the compliment on my photos as well. A big part of the reason that I joined here was to force myself to take photos of subjects that I don't usually photograph (my knives) and with limited gear (my phone). I'm hoping that it will give a little boost to my creativity.

He's headed off to Omaha for Grad School in July.
Then plans to move to Norway to get his PhD in a couple of years. :(
Omaha and Norway hmmm.gif
What is his area of study?
How did it come about that he speaks Norwegian, if you don't mind my asking?
I've always been impressed by people who get advanced degrees in languages that aren't their first. I have enough trouble with my native tongue.

TGIF! Have a great, safe weekend!

Pretty nice photo of your Northfield 13 and your new TEW Amboyna ??? Only problem of the TEW is : Not enough photos my friend . Worked Back ???
Harry
I thought I might draw a response out of you Harry, by slipping in that picture of my new TEW!:D
Yes it is amboyna burl, but I went with the regular back spring again. I’m going to order one more TEW soon with a lambsfoot blade and worked back spring. That’s the plan anyway. Of course, I only planned on getting one of these, but I don’t have to tell you how that played out!:D

Haven't given this Sway Back Jack Gent much pocket time so, I'm totin it to town today for a trip to the Post Office, maybe the local Mexican Restaurant for Re-fried Beans, Rice, and Enchiladas but most likely the Wagon Wheel Cafe, and then on to the Holiday Market for groceries. It's an exciting life we live here in Alturas:) - so much to do.

I didn’t know you’re a Greek? So am I.
Beautiful companions all around Tony!

Hey Gus! I suspected that you may be, but was not sure. Thanks for clarifying! Yes, I'm Greek--my whole family is, though I was born in the states. We are third gen US Greeks on my mom's side, and direct from Greece on my dad's. My maternal grandpa was a steel worker outside Pittsburg back at the beginning of the last century, and may have had a hand in the steel production that went into our beloved hobby.

The book in the pic is a contemporary rendering of Homer's Iliad by Nikos Kazantzakis (and excellent writer in his own right). The modern rendering is excellent, and is nearly identical to the equally excellent English translation by Richmond Lattimore.
