What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

0A4AEB84-38AD-497D-9423-465D61B10F9F.jpeg Feels like I haven’t had much spare time lately, but I sat down for a cold “Everything has Eyes” by Cosmic Eye brewery this evening. Installed some drip irrigation in the garden and watched my golden chase birds away from my feeders too :p. I’ve really missed this backyard work.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but this case Bose cattle knife has been getting a heck of a lot of pocket time lately. Quite the knife and I really love the ebony.

I carried this one today:

I’m just getting ready to put the cap lifter to good use on the back deck.

Nice knife, but that second photo is beautiful, grew up on the water myself and I still live on the same lake. :)
Thanks. I wish I lived here, unfortunately it’s not my house. It’s a place we rent with a bunch of friends for the winter in Lake Tahoe. The view out the back is beautiful; and I still get excited every time we come up here. I imagine it must have been amazing for you growing up on a lake.

Great to see you here Dylan, and with two smashing knives :) Keep an eye out for the mail ;)

Thank you, Jack! Now you have me dreadfully curious - I'll be eagerly keeping a look out. Very nice Swayback - I think I'd like mine better if it had a secondary blade on it like yours does.

Continuing with the CSC Jack today with a 62 to keep it company.

Yeah I bet, how couldn’t you get excited with that view! Well, a midwestern reservoir isn’t exactly a beautiful mountain lake :D but it was a great place to grow up and raise our kids...it’s home.

His Grandmother, my Mother-in-Law, came from Norway. He finds languages super easy. I told him he should have studied languages because he's got a gift for it. He studied ASL, and taught himself Latin, Japanese, Norwegian, Esperanto, and some Italian. I can't hardly speak English worth a darn.

I’ve heard Norwegian is one of the easiest second languages for native English speakers to learn. Haven’t heard the same about Latin or Japanese. :D

I’ve also heard that Norwegians like to eat tacos on Friday. “Fredagstaco.” Apparently it’s a thing.

I've never been into Trappers, and I'm giving this one a carry today to see what I've been missing.

Lots of life left in that one.

I think most guys would throw this knife in the safe.
Not me... It's way more valuable to me in my pocket. ;)

How could you not use that one? :D  After all, the tube it came in said “A Barlow in every pocket,” not “A Barlow in every safe!” ;)

Nice work on that Opinel, David.

A favorite small Tinker and a favorite Bull Nose, a 2013 with green Linen Micarta and 01 Steel:thumbsup:

Another great utilitarian pair, Paul. I think all my Bull Noses are 1095 (didn’t get my first until the 2015 run), but I do have an O1 #99 Farmer Lock.

I carried my Schrade Cut Co. Barlow on my trail hike today.

Nice photos, Dean.

View attachment 1534467 Carrying the 15 boys knife today. Such a classic and simple pattern.

That’s a handsome #15!

Fancy! :D

Tell me your old, without saying you’re old. Here I’ll go first. :p:p Happy Friday Everyone!!

Very cool church key!

I was about to ask where you kept the cattle. :D :D

I’ve had this Micarta #85 in my pocket most of this past week. I’ll probably change it up tomorrow, I think.

Why did the allodemographian throw a clock out the window? He/she/they wanted to see time fly.
Speaking of pronomial choices required on your name tag, can this really be happening again this year?
[Edited to add, yes and no. It's all virtual. ]

:D

Choices...
I could flip it for a large profit.
I can put it in a safe and only take it out for pictures.
Or I can pocket it, and use it, and enjoy it as much as possible.
Do you think I made the right decision? ;) :D:thumbsup:

Definitely!

Thank you, Jack, I did have a great hike. :) I like the look of the bone on your Case Swayback ; does the pile side match?

Thanks Dean, it does, @Peregrin did a great job picking it out :)

Dynamite knife duo and distinctive slip, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:

...

Thanks, Jack. :) That my Christmas canoe happened to show up near Easter on my rotation schedule is something that you, the creator of Random Tuesday carries, should appreciate! ;):p
You're sporting a pair of which you can be proud!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks for the kind words, and for the morning chuckle, my friend :D :)

Felt like a "Fancy Friday" to me! I picked this one up because it reminded me of the Lake Interframe collaboration I'd been chasing for a decade or better. Then @Gary W. Graley put one up for sale and I was lucky enough to get it.
TGIF!

Spectacular Gary, you and @Gary W. Graley are turning into a bit of a tag-team! :D ;)

Thank you Jack, I'm liking the acrylic quite a bit:thumbsup: enjoy your weekend my friend, with your dynamic duo you are covered for most anything:)

Thanks a lot pal, I hope Spring has come there, and that you have a great weekend :)

Yes, I've been corrected as well, though it too was years ago--my Dutch buddy is now quite used to me and my sense of humor ;)

About 20 years ago, I stayed in Amsterdam with a friend who is originally from Frisia. I told all our friends he was a closet Frisian nationalist, and kept me up all night singing Frisian drinking songs, to which I simply made up the words! :D

Thanks a lot, Jack!!!

Sweet little Wharncliffe swayback to go with your Lamb today; the Bagpipe Ebony are certainly awesome looking covers!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks a lot JJ :)

The Hartshead is my weakness... I may never be strong enough to actually use it.
To me, the Hartshead is like a museum piece and needs to be preserved for future generations.

May the force be with you my friend ;)

It's taking its time a bit Dylan, but will hopefully get there in the end  Thank you, the secondary Pen is a useful addition :) Good-looking pair there

Have a great weekend everyone :)
