What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks!

A slight misunderstanding: I didn't mean I'd given away others, but that these are the ones that didn't have a broken backspring. (yet ;))
The broken one could be turned into a single blade knife easily for someone experienced in blade deleting. Let me know if you're interested:

“Yet”!!! Ha.
Actually, that sounds weird. Think maybe they had a batch of improperly tempered springs?
As to that other thing, your generosity, this 881Y knows...:)
Today... well, the past few days, have been these "3 Case" days....
The new large copperlock in white bone, the half whittler in white bone, the sowbelly in yellow bone.... I mean, delrin... and the ever present 23 in mesquite.... it's been in the pocket every day for the past few months.... at least when I'm in cargo pants or shorts.

Or, we could just call those pale ones Genuine Imitation Delrin ;)
Thats to Amir fleschwund who was kind enough to send me

Three under five?
You know, I’ve seen people get outraged when they see people with a child on a leash. Grandparemts of under five year olds understand perfectly.
Way to go , Grandpa. I’ll bet it was worth it.
Jeff, I probably won't do it again anytime soon! It was fun though!
I wish I had leashes!

Those DO make nice single blades.... almost exactly the same size as a GEC 15.... you did a great job on this one. What wood did you use?

this is my old Kutmaster... I don't remember what wood I used on mine... I'll have to check. edit:..... I think it's wenge wood.

Those green single blade trappers are sweet. I might pick one up, as I have little use for the spey blade.

Mine is a keeper for sure. It is substantially lighter than the 2-blade Bone Trapper (64 grams vs 105 grams), and feels great in hand.

How's the f&f on that new Case?

Mike, the blade is centered with tip not exposed, but there are gaps between the spring and liners. Functionality is great as it is very light and easy to carry and use.

You're a wise man, Dean!

Phenomenal pair of knives!

Thank you kindly, Gary.

Stunning pair Dylan

Thank you, Jack!

Propitious pair of pocket knives, Dylan; I'm especially partial to that sowbelly stockman!

Thank you, GT! My assortment of Sowbellys is slowly-but-surely growing and it has been interesting to note the differences in execution. I have a few Queen-made ones - all very different in execution/quality and a few Case ones that are largely consistent across the board. I've a number of Winchester "black box" knives and they are well made and sturdy - I just wish there was less "meat" behind the edges. I am holding out hope that GEC will take on the pattern someday.

Going with my favored black/red today. The old 'un is a delightful knife.

Beautiful pair Dylan! My first 66 (edit to say- or is that a 29?) is in the mail- excited to get it!

I've lost 3 Queens to this same affliction. Two pen knives in buffalo horn and one mini trapper in delrin. The pen knives popped while Queen was still around and they were replaced by Ryan Daniels, the trapper just popped a couple weeks ago. Since it was already a single blade, it met it's fate. I thought it was a fluke when it happened to the pens, but the trapper was made years after those and went without warning. Sounds like r8shell r8shell 's cocobolos were made several years before those even.

I know that springs can break on any slipjoint but I've only experienced it on a Queen, so it's alarming to me that it's happened on three separate knives!! Queen made some of my favorite knives, and I didn't have the problems that others had with them towards the end. This problem with the backsprings gives me pause on investing too much more into them though.
