What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

John, that duo is Serious Black
Thank you, GT. :)
I enjoyed the Harry Potter reference.
I remember Roy riding Trigger, and Dale riding Buttercup, and their dog Bullet, and that 3rd guy driving his Jeep Nelly Belle, but I can't think of the character's name.
Sparrow, played by Pat Brady.
I love watching the shows again, even my wife has joined the fun.
It really drives home the message of that time, "Do the right thing, and everything will work out".
Gorgeous knife, Jack. 🤠
I always thought one day I'd grab one of those Speaker Jacks or an Irish Jack... guess I waited too long. ;)

Nice trio of knives you're sacrificing at the tree rat shrine, Jeff, although none of them look like "virgins"!;) That Kabar swayback looks like a heavy duty workhorse.

That is NOT a shrine to the tree rats! What I really need is a a tree rat head on a pike to ward them off. I’ve been putting out these “animal repellent” concoctions made of dried blood, hot pepper powder, and other spices, but they love ripping my vegetables out, and digging holes to plant nuts. I guess it’s my fault for planting all those walnut trees.
Yup~ Most of my knives lean toward the “well broken-in”.

That pasture looks more nutritious than some you've included in your pics.:thumbsup::) What breed are your cattle? I grew up on a dairy farm where we had almost all Holsteins, and I could probably identify Gurnseys, Jerseys, and maybe even Brown Swiss, but I don't know anything about beef breeds (except TV Western Texas Longhorns, I guess).

As the spring feed dries up we try to move everything to irrigated pasture to keep the calves growing. They are mostly Angus cattle. Sometimes we will mix in another breed to give them more heterosis. Years ago we used some Hereford bulls (they are red w/ white faces) which is where the black white-face cows come from. We currently have some Simmental/Angus bulls that we are using along with Angus bulls. We used to have a few longhorns around also, just because they looked cool, not for cross breeding.

Another picture from the other day for knife content:

Sentimental favorites~ Siberian Iris. Brought a sackfull of tubers to this house thirty something years ago from Grandma’s place. She’d had them untold years, through three different locations. Just like the Bearded Iris in my first picture, I have them scattered all over the property. Three different perennial borders/gardens, and naturalized in the edges of the woods, and in the wildflowers. Everywhere I stick them, they seem to thrive and multiply.Wild buttercups that inadvertently came along with some Norway Maples I dug out of the ditch at a family place in Wisconsin.

Oh. Were we talking about knives? #23 Oregon Trapper which nails both Trapper Tuesday, and Tidiute Tuesday.
And a Camillus TL-29 I rehandled in cow bone.

Knackered SAK for the hospital, then back to the Queen.
The phlebotomists didn't have any instructions concerning me, but it's probably an oversight and I'll have to go back tomorrow. Fasts that don't break my back strengthen it.
Yup, the non-bleeding was a mistake so I have to go back tomorrow. Non-fasting, though. I'd better take a walk today and bring down that A1c.😁

I'll be prepared: Norlund, Gerber, Western, and Uncle Bill's Army sewing kit.

Except the leather case was made in England expressly for B. Altman and Co of NY, so maybe that wasn't government issue.

You're welcome, Todd, and congrats on the new boat and on your son's birthday! :) I hope the marlinspike can add a little something to your nautical adventures!

Thanks Gary! Oh it will, especially over the next several days! 🪢👍
Starting off with these two as I enjoy my morning coffee...
A Wright Lambsfoot in Ebony and a Custom Fiddleback Runt.
That’s a great shot John, the new Runt is looking cool! 😎👍
