What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the encouragement, Dean. :)
Lots of folks seem quite pleased with those trappers like yours!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks, Dean & Jack. :)
I first read Vonnegut probably 50 years ago; I went through a period during which I'd get most of my books from a used book store that allowed trading one of my books for one of theirs, so many of the Vonnegut novels I read were traded in for others, and the ones in my photo are the only ones I have left. I re-read Player Piano (his first novel, I think) last summer, and that was the first Vonnegut I'd read in decades. I probably haven't read anything he wrote after 1980. IIRC, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater was one of my favorites.

Thank you for your comment on my trapper, Gary. I haven't read Vonnegut in years either, but I have some of them on the shelf. Someday...

Got the Shing Lanny’s clip with me today

What a great pair, Jack. 🤠
Classic beauties, both of them.
Thanks pal :)
A focus on yard work today...
So I've got my best workers along to help.
Solid blue-collar buddies ;)
Your AC and that ebony congress make a top-echelon pair, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks for your daily support, Jack. :)
I'm always debating with myself whether the Electrician or the Farmer is my favorite Alox model. Today, I'm favoring the 2 cutting blades of the Electrician (tomorrow, my preference may change ).

Thanks, Dean & Jack. :)

Thank you kindly Gary :) I have the Electrician in my city bag, but the Farmer is my hiking preference as I often use the saw  I have lost so many treasured books over the years, often as a result of lending them to friends who haven't returned them  Now my memory is so bad, I think they see me as an easy mark! 🤨😉
Terrific pairing of time-machine totes, Jack; amazing images, as well! :thumbsup:

Pocketed these two pens from Robeson and Crucible Knife Co, made in the 1920s-30s. :)
Sincere thanks JJ, that's a supremely gentlemanly pair, for the perfect gent :)

Will Power Will Power
Thank you !! Here in southern Ontario, Canada and growing quickly with a bit of a scare in the last 24hrs as we had quite a cold spell. Steady rain for the past few days though, with seasonal temps today going forward. May is the “make or break” mark for both our apricot and cherry trees, apricot in the front yard and cherry in the backyard. They look fine, touch wood!

Rubythroat Rubythroat ... Burgundy PLOW arrived today, ahead of schedule :)
There MAY be a hint of Burgundy in there LOL. It will darken with carry and use and will be interesting to see what develops
Fit and finish is better than my Bocote PLOW in that the covers fit the liners better on this Micarta
The Micarta texture feels good in the hand and yields a slightly better grip than the Bocote
I'm very happy with it :)

Quick pic taken from the mailbox to the house ...

Hello! After some use, what are your thoughts on the burgundy Plow? It looks kinda cool against the grey wood👍. Gotta love an early delivery!!!

F/F is virtually impeccable on mine but not all are so lucky. I recently read one report of blade rap ... blade hitting backspring when snapped shut. I don't have that issue with either of my PLOWS.

I tried starting out carrying my Bocote PLOW this morning but have switched to the Burgundy. Not only is the F/F better on the Burgundy, but the Burgundy is snappier too. My experience may be different from others, but the PLOW is a pleasure to carry and joy to use. D2 and Micarta should hold up for a VERY long time too.

As far as the color ... and it does have SOME color ... it's subtle. In some indoor night light, it almost looks brown to my old eyes and the lighting. It's kind of like a chameleon LOL. When I first take it out of my pocket, the color seems more definitive than after a few minutes use and my eyes mute or ignore the color. In bright sunlight, the color is still somewhat subtle. If hard pressed to say what color it is, I'd lean more toward maroon than burgundy.

EDIT: The liners on both PLOWS had sharp edges at both the backspring and blade well. Could have use a jeweler's file or sandpaper to smooth the edges but found that an old worn out green meanie sufficiently smoothed the edges with a little work.

Color and texture would look slightly different depending on angle of light but here is a quick snap on the old gray wood ...
