Harry, this year, I used a Companion Planting guide available online from Burpee. Besides what plants work together, like tomato and basil, it also tells you what plants repel pests. Following that, I planted nasturtium, marigold, rosemary, thyme, catnip, and dill in among my beans and broccoli and cauliflower. Only finding an occasional, solitary japanese beetle eating my bean leaves. In all previous years, they were swarming over them by the hundreds.

That is one creepy looking alien bug!

Thanks for the comments, guys. JohnDF it is Kirkwood Lake up in the Carson Pass area. It’s a great spot, we’ve been doing an annual family camping trip there for at least 12 years.

Thanks Jeff . I will have to look into that for next year . We did plant Seeds for Marigold and Marigold Plants and the beetles want to eat the New Plants .

Swapped out the RR597 Trapper for an RR1569 Moose, and put the Sunfish back on the shelf.
The R1287 Yellow Half Hawk/Loom Fixer and RR533 Scout/Camp knife can remain on EDC duty for a couple more days.

We had a great camping trip with my wife’s family; just a little too short. We hiked to a stream yesterday, and I brought my fly rod. I saw a bunch of trout but couldn’t catch any. The swimming was good, though. Here are a few pictures.

The Nessmi is a great little knife! I gave one like yours to my son and he loves it. I found one that was made in Solingen that I carry a lot.
Collector Knives has a nice pocket sheath that could have been made for the Nessmi.
