What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Had an awesome weekend with family visiting and going to see my favorite band in concert.
Pictured are a couple of my favorite things to collect.

Boker Barlow with faux Tortoise shell covers and standard Vic...I bought the Vic at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Army Px when attached to the Marine Barracks there in 1987 for my 1st Ordnance Schooling in small arms' repair...I have abused the Vic within my needed limitations but she always wisks up sharp as a razor and has remained tight for 34-ish years...also accidentally posted this same pict this morning in the German traditional carry thread whoops! Cheers for a sunny Monday morning in San Marcos, Ca gang!

Good morning all. Today here in southern coastal NC things are starting out sunny. So, I have my trusty one with me.

Looking good Bill :)
She says thank you, Jack. Your Hartshead is looking good, and I like that Boker Atlas.
It appears you hit that target a few times!
That's nice Gary :) Thank you my friend :) Yes, I ripped it in half with the first shot, so then had to fire at progressively smaller pieces! :D Still a bit bigger than my regular target though ;)

Thank you, Jack. :)

You too, my friend. :)

The Boker is an interesting looking knife. Is that an exposed backlock?
Thanks John, it's an exposed spring, as it's a slipjoint :)
Felt like carrying some Delrin instead of Micarta today...
Nice Old Yeller with your Lamb buddy :)
I'll be putting this one in my pocket this afternoon. One gnarly beast!😁

Another great-looking knife Bill :)

This swayback was one of the first knives Ken made for me way back when he was just achieving liftoff in the cutlery trade!! It might even be Ken's first Swayback!! I wish I had written stuff down when I was young!!🤣
Anyhow, it has nice pre-ban handles, and wonderful mechanicals!! At a bit over 3 1/2" it's perfect for pocket!!View attachment 1616363View attachment 1616364
This knife was made when everyone wanted a swayback. They were becoming very popular - Case, under influence from Tony Bose made some and custom makers were starting to make them!!
While I am not particularly fond of re-branding patterns I admit I have fallen prey to the name "Viper" (pun intended) which I have started to think of when I see this "swayback-wharncliffe" combination!! Even old dogs . . . . . . . . . . .:D
Inspired by Charlie's post in the Erickson thread this morning, I decided to reacquaint myself with this one.

I picked it up on the Exchange in 2008 (Yikes!) from the member that had it made. Here's a quote from Ken that I managed to find.

3/24/2008

Here is one that I made up for a customer. A scaled down swayback to 3 1/8 closed length. Have one more pattern to add then that will be it for a while I think!

I think some larger patterns do not scale down very well but over all I was real happy with how this swayback turned out. Any comments good or bad , more than welcome.

3 1/8 closed
410 milled frame/bolsters
ATS-34 blade and spring.
A little finer finish on the bolsters than I normally do 800 grit
half stop
antique ivory Micarta
federal shield

Thanks for looking!
Ken Erickson
