It’s disappointing they would do that to you. I don’t blame you for taking your business elsewhere. Do you have other companies that can make your Guardians SFOs going forward, or were they the last remaining option?Hi Tomas, because it's a copy of my 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot SFOMy design, and I paid for and was promised exclusivity (as were those who bought that knife)
Thank you very much, that one was from 2018. Sadly, there won't be anymore Guardians SFOs made by that company, for reasons I'm sure you can understand

Great way to start the week with those two Sheffield beauties; looks like you're keeping your Guardians Lamb nice and sharp, too!![]()

Thanks JJ, yes, the Lambsfoot is a pleasure to sharpenA new Lambsfoot arrived today so I paired it with this "Metal Monday" beauty kindly gifted byJack Black .

That kind of dishonest behaviour is rather endemic in Sheffield I've found, which was one of the reasons I was reluctant to go into another cutlery project. Those firms would make more money if they were honestIt’s disappointing they would do that to you. I don’t blame you for taking your business elsewhere. Do you have other companies that can make your Guardians SFOs going forward, or were they the last remaining option?
And people wonder why we carry Swiss Army Knives.Forum knife and small Tinker this weekend, the Tinker helped in shed assembly

Congrats on the fantastic "wizardly" slip; the 2-color double-stitching is especially nice!
Rare pair, José; not many people have knives like those two!
Glad to see that ice still hasn't melted after 90 years, JJ; outstanding pair!Toting these two thrifty 1930's Hammer Brand/Imperials wearing Cracked Ice.
...
Remarkable duo, Steve! I especially like that round-bolstered SW stockman!Voos Arrow and a Schrade 879
...
Thanks, Todd. We'll see what we come up with.Wow, 32 years, that must feel like a home away from home. Hope you find another place to enjoy many more vacations Gary.![]()

Enjoy your day.
Beautiful weather in the middle of the US, but I know it’s been kind of rough for some of you lately. Best wishes to all!
You're like Henry Clay, the Great Compromiser!Sounds good to me but I married an ”activity girl“ - she plans all our vacations and hardly misses a minute! OH
Congrats on the handsome new Texas Jack, Todd!I’m carrying a “new to me” small Texas Jack, and a SAK Cadet. I’ll probably need the nail file on the Cadet after opening and closing this new Jack so many times today!View attachment 1632817
Your ebony lambsfoot is very elegant, Bill!Jack Black SFO Lambsfoot in Ebony.

What model is that copper Böker Plus, and what's the second blade? Looks like it's quite small, right? It's a looker!...
Two copper pieces for me this Friday. The days are getting shorter, so pocket lights are returning to the EDC regiment.
Those shots seem to be coming fast and furious! My nurse today didn't hurt me a bit. Third of four rabies shots.
...
Distinguished dark duo with definite diversity size-wise!Ebony for Friday.
...
I'm not really a Barlow fan, but those vintage 49x Bökers with the tree on the bolster sure move the needle for me!
Splendid duo, Greg; I especially like that bone whittler!Case Bros. whittler in chestnut bone and a Boker Club Knife in ironwood.

Admirable craftsmanship on the reheating, Jeff! Two jackknives re-done in elk stag, a little Klein utilty, and a Case XX Sodbuster.View attachment 1633436View attachment 1633437
Superb 897UH, Bruce; that model probably gets my vote for ideal medium stockman!Spent a week with a Case 6318 in my pocket - if I could live with just one pocketknife this one would be it. However I am home from vacation and have them all at my disposal, rose early and went down to the dock to fish a couple of hours at dawn, pulled this old 897UH Uncle Henry out of my tacklebox to trim a tag line and I think it will do just fine for the rest of the day. Going to fuel the boat and go riding here in a bit. OH

Case still makes nice knives. Not much you cannot accomplish with these two. And stainless is nice when conditions are wet.
Cool Kutmaster stockman with those lovely round bolsters!Standard Issued Kutmaster:

Phenomenal pair of Barlows, Jack!...

Couple of more-than-competent pitchers from an era when I followed baseball much more closely than I do now.Enjoying seeing the baseball cards. When I was a boy and a teenager these two locals were hot pitchers. Gaylord Perry and Jim “Catfish” Hunter. Got to meet both several times in eastern NC after they had retired - that’s when I got the autographs. The Schrade-Walden 294 is still as snappy as the day it was built. OH

Great combo!
I can see why that pair could become your "Usual", too!Happy Sunday All

Remember that old TV game show "Bökers Wild"? I don't know if I ever watched it myself, but I remember hearing it on the TV in another room with the host shouting "Böker ... Böker ... Böker!!!"...
It's a double Boker day.

Thanks for the story for that priceless knife! Thanks! It belonged to my late older brother. He had pitched it into a box of junk tools after he pretty well wore out the pen blade digging grout out of his bathroom tile. I managed to rescue it and it’s one of my favorites now.
Thanks, Jack; I kind of like the resin handles, but I'm attracted to knives at the lower end of the price range. Thanks buddy, that's an interesting range of knives thereCool Mikov. I like the slicey blades on the Pallares folders, the resin handles not so much. How do you find the steel and F&F on that Scout Gary, it's a nice-looking knife? :
Thanks for the additional info on the big SAKs, Jeff....
Appreciate your nice comments, as always, Gary.
Do check out the 111mm Vics and the 130mm Wengers. As with any SAK, the number of layers is what determines how bulky it feels. My 111 has only two, so it feels very slim. My 130 has three ~ can & bottle openers on one layer, saw on another, and blade on the third. This does make it thicker, almost to the point where it’s nearly square in cross section. But in use, it feels perfect and secure.
A tad bulky admittedly, but surprisingly light. I usually carry it in an old Queen folding hunter belt sheath. But not always.
I could see it being the one and only for a long trail backpacker or hunter. It’s a very capable tool.
BUT it absolutely never dawned on me that I’d ever hear someone call it a “novelty knife”.![]()
Thanks for your feedback!I like it a lot. There are no gaps in the springs and bolsters, the blades are nicely centered with no rubbing, it's really very sharp and the scales look and feel really good. For $32, that's realy hard to argue with.
I like the "human" stories and I like the statistical insights; have a bunch of Bill James books on my shelves from back in the 1980s.I didn’t until a handful of years ago either. Stories like his and many others that deal with heart and character are among the reasons why I don’t like the sabermetrics ruling the game today.
Could be. My last one is this Friday. Those shots seem to be coming fast and furious! For some reason, I thought the series of shots was spread over several weeks, but that's probably based on a treatment that was state-of-the-art 50 years ago.
