What?! No Becker Chainsaw?!
On another thread I was wishing for regular production of the BK20 or BK29. Since that might irritate some of those who bought them as limited editions, how about leaving off the relief grind along the spine? Big choppers almost always get batoned a good bit, so a full 1/4" spine might help with that. It would add a touch of forward weight, but I have a BK29 and I don't think a bit more forward weight would hurt it as a chopper. Leaving the spine full width would lower production cost a bit and preserve the exclusivity of the original models.
As long as I am wishing, why not a full spec: Long finger guard like the BK20, length of BK20 or a touch more, "deep" blade like the BK29, long clip like the BK29, but a straight clip like the BK20, 1/4" stock, no relief on the spine, some distal taper, but leave a tip you aren't afraid to baton. Call it the Becker Beast Bowie, because it surely would be.
My understanding is that the relief grind along the spine is to help with batoning. The reduced surface area makes for less friction with going through stuff.
