Mine was a native 5. Sold it so I could upgrade to an s110v manix. What was your reason?

Sold 2 GEC 71s, because 4 was too many, and a 77 Barlow because I added a Washington. And I wanted to buy something else. ;)

Buy and sell is what I do in this hobby.
...and my wife says I'm a lousy businessman...
I guess I don't do this for profit.

A Fallkniven S1 Pro. The midsize length of the blade was a mystery to me. It was either too short, or too long.

Benchmade 710-1501. Just a little too large for edc. It just didn't click with me.

Me too, I am the same way with guns as well. I enjoy experimenting but my wife hates that my hobby is expensive.

I think the last one I sold was a Benchmade Ares. I'd had it for over 15 yrs, never connected with it, and recently found it while working on my other house (hadn't seen it in years, but knew it would turn up - it was only about 10ft from where I expected to find it; but I'd never have found it there if I was actually looking for it).
I've traded a few others since then - just because I hadn't used them & knew I wouldn't.

Fehrman Peacemaker. Too many knives around the house makes me think twice about buying another. In restrospect, I should have just given it away to a friend or a family member. That way I could borrowed it from time to time.

I sold a Janisong.

Wasn't practical for my needs and needed the cash...kinda want another one though!

I just dont understand how you sell a knife/gun. Those are things to be handed down through generations and kept in the family.

Did not sell, sorry to OP, but I did gift one to a friend for a patch type knife, it as a small hunter by DP knives (Doug Dart?)

I recently sold a Randall #1 that I purchased new in 1973, and had never used. It sat in the closet for 44 years. None of my kids had any interest in it, so i sold it and put the proceeds in the grandkid's college fund. I still have a few "using knives", but at age 76, it is probably time to start passing those on. Each grandkid will get a 3" or 4" belt knife for camping chores.

Good knives last forever, so I suppose someday they may pass these knives on to great-grandkids. Too bad these knives won't be able to tell their stories of their many previous hunting, camping, and fishing ventures....

Cold Steel Talwar. Wanted to love it, but the pistol grip was just too small for my hands. Was going to gift it to a friend, but he insisted on giving me at least some cash for it.

I'll occasionally sell a gun, but rarely a knife. I have grown sons who I don't think have ever had to buy a knife or a gun for themselves. If I get tired of something, one of them will happily claim it.

Not everyone feels the same way you do.

Sometimes I just feel the need to thin the herd. So I sell a few.

Although I've never sold a knife, I'm starting to get the itch to thin the herd a bit. I have scads of knives that I know I'll never carry and hold no value to me as a collector, so I'm beginning to see the merit in thinning the herd. Or maybe some giveaways...I've given away lots of knives.

Besides, it looks like I'll never have enough to catch the world record holder :p...http://knifenews.com/guinness-world-record-knives/
