What was the last knife you sold and why?

My Benchmade 581 barrage carried it for about 4 months couple weeks back picked up my pm2 to open some mail and thought wow I miss this pm2 so I started carrying it again and sold the barrage

I don't think I've ever sold a knife but I gifted a Keramin to my mom's boyfriend and just traded a 950 rift for a ZT 450.

Haven't sold one yet. I don't know.... I generally feel like knives are a financial black hole (a manageable one), but like firearms, there really is no reason to just hold onto something that you don't like anymore. Notice the "like", it doesn't necessarily have to be used to like something. So, as my accumulation grows, I'm starting to re-think my knife black hole. I know I'll loose money relative to the purchase price, but that is perhaps better than "loosing all of it" to the dumpster gods when I kick the bucket.

Added: I struggle with this concept even with guns and I have sold my share of guns over the years. My wife's brother died yesterday and he had a bunch of stuff and as you get older, you might get sick and generally the last thing on your mind at that point is whether or not you should sell that knife you never use or used. But still, I like knives and I like accumulating stuff I like. Maybe selling periodically is the way to go after all....

I like to look at the monetary loss as the price I paid to rent the knife for however long I owned it. Even if the knife was never used, I got to enjoy it in some ways and I don't expect that to come at no cost. Of course, a small profit is always nice but I don't really consider selling for less than I paid an actual loss in the grand scheme of things.

I sell knifes all the time, sold three today here on the forums.. A small sebenza, a pm-2, and a Mcusta Katana. Why? because my tastes and collection is ever evolving and I need $$$ to finance a Rask! haha

Very pragmatic approach. Maybe I'll up my membership again to Gold and do some selling. At least when this question comes up in the future and it always does, I'm not the stick in the mud who never sells his blades.

I just sold a Mint 2008 Shatt & Morgan Humpback Lockback Whittler. It was a beautiful knife but I have a American Whittler Congress Whittler heading my way any day now and I didn't think I would have use for both. Plus I went crazy with the whole early reservation thing and im going to need the cash lol. :D
