What was the last knife you sold and why?

I can't remember the last one I sold, most likely some inexpensive Chinese folder

all the latest ones have been gifted, this one was the last one I gifted, and did so because I knew the person had fn with some XL folders from CS and this one would be a very fun and much appreciated addition to the XL collection

Just sold my viper odino, spyderco techno, manix 2. Liked them all but saving for a gun right now. Also thinning the collection down to just a few.

Sell a knife (or a gun)? I don't understand the question.

In all seriousness, I don't recall ever selling a knife. I've given dozens away, though. The last (a Benchmade 707) was to my son-in-law, because I thought he'd enjoy it more than I did.

Sometimes.....sometimes...the USPS actually misplaces a knife, and you're sure it must have been stolen. Then, you start an inquiry on the tracking number, and (two weeks late) it shows up in your mailbox.
It's okay to be paranoid, if you see somebody actually chasing you.

In the past I gifted a Childress necker in camel bone, dyed yellow in 440c and a Hunter made from a rasp from Hardedge knives to my daughter.

I almost never sell knives, but I did sell a ZT350 to a coworker a couple of years ago. It was just too small for me. I prefer my ZT301 and carry it daily.

CRK GB 5.5". Never used it. Never would. Too heavy. Too thick. Knew I wouldn't keep it when I bought it. Bought it simply because it was mismarked at 10% of MSRP ($31 vs $310). Sold it for $225 walking the aisles at a gun show.

Hopefully, it was just priced incorrectly...otherwise you bought a fake (at the right price), and sold it as real thing.

It was an AAFES vendor purchase - Camp Arifjan-Zone 6 PX vendor. It was the real deal. Three left so marked. Had a buddy buy all three.

I haven't sold any, mostly give the inexpensive ones away. I may sell my brand new non-flipper XM-18 Hinderer I purchased back in 2005 and my new Rockstead Higo soon. I find them a bit big for my folder preference. I also have a number of other smaller folders, but they aren't worth the work selling.

I just dont understand how you sell a knife/gun. Those are things to be handed down through generations and kept in the family.

I think most of us have nothing to worry about in this regard. No matter how many knives I sell I will always have plenty to hand down because I replace the sold knives with newly acquired knives. I buy more than I sell so my collection keeps getting larger. It's not as if I'm selling my last knife.

I know that for me personally, the recipient of my knives will have more knives than they know what to do with. Just like me.:)

I recently sold a Kellum Wolverine. I bought it used to see how well I'd like the puukko style. Well I really like the style and have since purchased some handmade and higher end puukkos so I thought I'd recoup a small amount of cash.

Sometimes I'll buy a high end knife and find out it doesn't fit my hand well or it's not as good as something I already have. Best to sell it than to let $300 sit in a sheath and collect dust.

Just sold an AG Russell Bird and Trout. I'm selling off most of the knives I have gotten for the last 25 years or so. Until this year I gave away my knives rather than sell them. But now it's time to get rid of the ones I no longer carry or use. An investment they aren't but I had a lot of fun buying and using most of them. A few I never did use at all or much but most of my knives were users.

Just unloaded quite a few knives the other day, the most recent one was a Spyderco Paramilitary 1.75. The knife never got much pocket time and I've recently started getting back into slip joints. My wife is constantly nagging on me about buying and selling knives. She just doesn't understand....

Sold a Randall model 14. Realistically wasn't going to use it. It also wasn't my dream configuration. Needed money for the CRK Pacific I ordered. Just waiting on the call.

I sold a Janisong.

Wasn't practical for my needs and needed the cash...kinda want another one though!

The Janisong is next on my chopping block because I never carry it, but I may reconsider. It is fun to flip while sitting in the chair watching TV!

The last one I sold was a Spyderco Yojimbo 2. I never carried it. So it was time to send it onow down the line to someone who would use it. I try to keep my collection around 10 knifes so they all get pocket time. I am not a fan of Safe Queens, even though I have one. I like to carry my knives. If they set on the bench too long then they get sold.
