What was your first Emerson? Do you still have it?

CQC-7AW. Was totally unimpressed with the fit and finish and sent it back two days after I got it. Now, two years later, they're basically the only knives I'll buy. Been EDCing an HD-7 for the past 18 months.

Got a Benchmade Emerson in the early '90's (?).... owned them periodically since. As I recall it was sacrificed somewhere in the high Sierrra a while later. I still have the Benchmade Panther I think I bought the same day.

Bought this 15 early 2011. I was not only my first Emerson but my first nice knife. It hasn't been carried much since the lock is super early and slips with light pressure from my hands. I thought it would work itself in but hasn't moved a bit so I will be sending it in one of these days. I got a 7 about a week after this one and have been hooked ever since.

It's been through some changes, and remains one of my favorite knives ever. Bought it on 11-18-2011 at the NYCKS.

Indeed, it has..... :). Seems to have picked up a little weight and gotten bit thicker over the years :p. Though still very beautiful!

I just noticed you said NYCKS and reside in NY. How do you carry in such a liberal (or at least I've heard) environment? And by that I mean clipped, in the pocket, sheath, or etc.?

Got a P-Sark about 5 years ago that was like new, manufactured date was 2001. I carried it daily for 4 years. I have since acquired a couple of CQC8's and carry those. My wife confiscated the PSARK 😊

I live on Long Island, and pretty much carry what I want clipped to my back pocket (NYS law says that the blade length has to be shorter than 4"). However, when I'm in NYC (Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Manhattan), I keep my knife inside my pocket with nothing showing. I've spoken with NYC LEOs and they prefer not to see any part of a knife. That said, I tend to carry smaller knives that can't be flicked open or with any wrist action (Dragonfly, Falkniven U2, or a traditional) when in the boroughs.

Mini 15 for me. Still have it though I haven't carried it in a long time. It needs to go back for some work on the lock up.

My first Emerson was my CQC-15 BT I bought right at the beginning of 2013. I still EDC it to this day

Mine is a Mini Commander that I bought about two years ago. I just recently got it out and remembered why I liked it so much to begin with, and it has been with me non-stop since. Lately I have been looking for some custom handle scales for it, something with a little more contouring hopefully. I'm not exactly sure where the best place to get some would be, so if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated!
