what was your first knife?

My first knife was a Victorinox Camper that I bought in Liechtenstein when I was 12.

Sitting in my drawer, two BSA scout knives from the 80s.

These are tough knives, I beat the heck out of them in my youth.

My 1st knife I got when I was a boy scout. My dad, who isn't too into knives, bought me an Imperial SAK style knife, I'm unsure of the model. I still have it. Not long after that, my mom bought me a victorinox classic which I lost on my paper route like 2 months later. I used that Imperial to slice up and eat watermelons when we went camping...of course with the farmers permission lol

I've come along way and usually carry a caly3 cf zdp189 or one of my other spydercos. :D

Just noticed 2 posts up are 2 bsa saks, mine looked like the red handle on the right.

An old "Barlow" I got when I was 8-9, shortly thereafter I proceeded to slice my index finger almost to the bone trying to whittle a piece of hardwood with a not very sharp blade :D

I had some crappy slipjoints that I never carried before, but I got my first good knife when I was 7. Me and my mom stumbled across someone on the town square with a little stand selling hunting gear and knives. I looked at the Marttiini Martef Skinner on the table and fell in love with it. It was just 15 marks (Finnish currency at the time) so mom bought it for me. I carried it and used it, and it has stood up to a lot of abuse. I've pried with it, chopped with it, chiseled with it and Jesus, even thrown it, and the only damage it has is a tiny chip on the blade and wear on the Martef coating. I still have the knife and carry it almost every day. I looked it up on the Internet a few days ago, turns out it won a popular hunting magazine's knife review on December of 1992, and it would cost 50 euros in stores nowadays. Hell of a deal.

Cool story bro.

For me, its another vote for a Buck 110

Mine was a blue Victorinox Bantam more than ten years ago, ever since I destroy, use up, lose or give away at least a knife per year.

Pretty boring: A Cub Scout SAK-like knife when I was about 8 years old. In "modern" times, to start this sickness off, it was a BM 585 Mini-Barrage.

My first knife? I have no idea what brand it was but I got it in 1972 and I know it was a POS. It's long gone and probably at the bottom of a landfill in New Jersey.

My first was a chinese camp knife with the fork and spoon that folded over the plastic slabs. A rather worthless piece of junk but I did make some memories with it.

My first real EDC, long term knife was a Gerber LST Magnum Jr. I dressed out my first Wild Turkey with it. I used it at work to clean buffing wheels when detailing used cars for a living. It held up to everything I threw at it and still has life left in it.

I gave it to my son. He used it for a couple years 'til I traded him for a BM Mini Grip. It's back in the corral with the rest of the rotation. Every once in a while I pocket it for sentimental reasons.

Easy question, my first was a Barlow slipjoint from the mid 70's. I still have that old knife.

First knife was a little key chain thing with a tiny blade and a nail file sporting a company logo...

First 'real' knife was a Victorinox Tinker, which I still have, and carry sometimes.

My first knife was a 7 dollar Sheffield folding knife from Home Depot. Bought it for basic cutting and it was kind of a piece of crap, but that transitioned into wanting better knives and now I'm a collector, so I guess I owe it one.

This was my first non-multi-tool knife:

it was a piece of garbage and came very dull out of the box, I thought mostly because it's a "heavy duty" knife and wouldn't be used for slicing. at least it still locks up tight (tighter than a certain few $385-800+ framelocks I've handled).
