My first Spydie was a Co-Pilot SE in Tufram. Howard Korn was trading out of a lock up in MD and I happened to be on my first trip to the US visiting a friend in Baltimore. I called him up to see if it was cool to swing by (there was no retail outlet for KnifeCenter back in '97) as I was hoping to pick up a sawback Gerber Basic Multi Function. We got to talking (for about an hour and half) and he produced all sorts of cool things in the Aladdin's Cave. When he hauled out the Co-Pilot I was hooked straight away. Hard as nails and mega sharp to boot. It's still one of my favourite knives and the old girl is still looking great after all these years...
The chamfer on the Spydie thumbhole seems to be missing in more recent models, which is a shame as it made for a very comfortable opening experience.
