  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

What was your "gate-way" Becker?

BK11. I got a Necker as soon as KaBar started making them again. Wanted one when they were made by Camillus, but never got around to ordering one before they disappeared. I got a BK9 with a free BK13 a year ago. The 11 and 9 are both stripped. The 11 is grapefruit/vinegar patinaed and orange paracord wrapped, the sheath just got a Nite-Ize EClips yesteday and it's got a permanent spot inside my waistband at my appendix. The 9 is stippled and has zombie green liners and rides on my camping/hiking pack. And I have a brand new BK2 on the way, supposed to arrive Monday. Gateway for sure.

How does that EClips seem, good quality? I've been thinking about ordering some.

I got my BK-2 last year at the KaBar booth at SHOT Show. I just recently ordered a BK-11. I have a custom knifesmith in the family and have access to some pretty top end blades. that said it's damn hard to beat the Becker series of blades. A BK-5 is on my short list. A 7 and 9 are inevitable. And if a 10 comes along at the right price.............

I started looking at this sit to get knife making ideas and than I started reading about these Beckers knives. Will i just got my BK7 yesturday and have an 11 in the mail and should be here Tuesday. I am looking for a Machax in the right price range and will own one of those too.

I picked up a BK11. Didn't know much about Beckers at the time.

Short story- I love the BK11, researched BK&T, found out that these are my kind of knives, found out that Ethan Becker is a pretty cool dude, found out I needed more Beckers, found Blade Forums, ordered a BK2 a few days ago, I wish that knife would hurry up and get here!

I'll end up owning the entire Becker line. I've started to let the guys at work know how awesome these knives are and the've started placing orders.

BK2- looking for the "just one knife to do most things well enough". Google searches led me around the web and then dropped me off here. Soon followed by a BK11 then a BK14, and then a BK13. It is hard to resist the lure of a customizable, value driven tool.

BK11. About May '11.
Love it. Reason? One of my friends got a 2, I liked it, and was searching for it when I came across here. Never looked back. Now she has a big bk7 sister named Beth.

CRB, I am happy with the EClips. My experience with Nite Ize tells me that this product should last just fine. My only concern is that it's only double-sided-taped on, but it seems to be very, very strong. I clip it to the waistband of my jeans behind my belt around 1 o'clock position, handle canted out, and forget my BK11 is there.

I had the typical progression... BK-11, BK-14, BK-2, and then the Remora. That will likely be it...

Okay, maybe some micarta scales for the BK-2, then those new handles for the BK-14. Wait a second, I forgot about the SHOT show knives.

I guess I'm in denial of my problem, many more Beckers on the horizon:)

Yeah, the tape was my concern as well. I'll have to get one and try it out.

Started with the BK2 (1st Gen) about 4-5 years ago after looking for a heavy-duty survival/camp knife, then bought and sold a BK7 to buy another BK2 (2nd Gen this time), then got a BK11 (stolen ), a BK14 (to replace the stolen 11), and a BK9 (Camillus era). They're all great knives, especially for the price. They can't be beat.

Becker BK2's are a pretty 'winsome' knife by all accounts. If i were a spendin' man, i'd be picking one up myself!

From this very informal, limited-statistical-sample it's looking like the BK2 is proving to be most Folks "gate-way" into the Becker Madness.

I had one years ago that looked like the BK5. Someoen offered me a lot more than I paid for it. Huh it might be one of you guys!

My BK-7 was my gateway becker. After I bought that a BK-11 and BK-2 joined my collection quickly. Now I just have to convince myself to buy all of the others.
