What watch do you wear?

I recently picked up a Gshock Mudman, the olive drab G-9000MC-3 pictured in XD45's post,(nice watches XD )

Was using my cell phone for time but alas the numbers seem to be getting harder to read, the Gshock has easy to read features. I added a Suunto clip on compass just because.

Seriously? You don't say what you want to use the watch for. If all you want to do is keep time I would have to say a Timex is your best bet. Not only are they cheap, they keep great time, and the INDIGLO feature makes the watch incredibly easy to see in the dark. Personally, I have a lot of watches, all out of your price range, but I do tend to wear my Timex a lot. The only time you need a really, really good watch is when your life depends on it, like a dive watch. Also, remember your cell phone usually has a watch built into it.

+1 G-Shock
I think I paid around $60 for mine and I like it a lot, FWIW I used to have a Seiko Kinetic and really didnt like it at all

I also have a Seiko Kinetic that just took a dump after very little use, though I confess if I wore it more, it probably wouldn't be having problems. I don't wear a watch much anymore, as I use my cell phone to keep time. That said, I'd probably buy a Casio. Owned a couple and they alway worked well, and I wasn't concerned what kind of beating they took.

Another vote for the G-Shock Mudman - awesome watches, great prices.

Here is a superb dealer for G-Shocks with the best prices I've found (where I bought mine for $61):

My negative display Mudman and my Submariner get the most wrist time by a long-shot and I own a lot of watches. Some people have issues with reading the neg display in low light but it has not been an issue for me plus it looks sharp and badass :)

I've owned two Timex Expeditions over the years and they are a high value watch. About $40, keeps perfect time, great indiglo backlight, and fits in with whatever situation you're in. Mine is scratched and banged up, but the face never cracked on either.

I've also heard nothing but good things about the Casio G-Shocks (as you can see in this thread), but IMO they don't look compatable with a suit and tie.

Both can be found at Walmart/Target/Kmart etc so when you're there looking at the G Shocks the Expeditions should be close by:D

I like the Seiko Titanium Chronograph my wife gave me, which is my daily watch for work (goes with my business attire). On the odd day I also wear an original Suunto Observer (also Titanium).
But my reliable daily alarm (different for weekdays and weekends), and for outdoors use (including SCUBA diving), I rely on my Timex Ironman. at $25 at Target, you can't go wrong.

for all the guys who likes fancier watches, what do you think of the tissot T touch?

Tissot in general makes a nice watch for the money. They are part of the Swatch group, which makes many high-end and low-end watches and many component parts for watches sold under other brand names. As I recall, Blancpain, Omega, Tissot, Longines, and Swatch are the same company.

If you Google T-Touch, you'll see some user complaints. I have a Suunto Vector watch which offers the same functionality in a more reliable package. The altimeter and compass and barometer seem fairly reliable. The temperature is way off as a result of body heat from your arm and wrist. Casio makes a similar functioning watch called the "Navigator," I think.

I got to play with one for a short time a while ago. Tissot is a great brand, but I personally didn't like that model. The functions are neat and useful, but the whole thing felt a bit gimmicky. Sometimes took a few pokes to initiate a function. You also develop an OCD of wiping the crystal off.

the Ttouch is a bit expensive for me.
looking for other options I found the suunto (even more expensive), the high gear (cheaper but I read some bad reviews) and the casio pathfinder, which seems like a good one with all the features (barometer, altimeter, thermometer and the compass). the problem is, there are too many options.
way too hard to decide what to get.

I prefer my Suunto Observer, though there are nicer ones available these days (mine is 8 years old)....

Not in the price range but the Suunto line-up is impeccable. I have had the stainless x6hr for about three years without any problems besides the occasional low battery (only replaced once). I wear the thing every day and the original rubber strap is still holding strong too.

I switch out between:

Citizens Eco Skyhawk

Solar G-Shock

Seiko Chronograph

and a $100 Timex Rectangular Chrono.

Love 'em all and rotate 'em out about a week each.
