What watch do you wear?

I'm usually wearing my Citizen Eco-Drive, I think it's called a diver model (?)
Have actually taken it scuba diving, been 90' underwater without any trouble. It's a great watch.

If I'm not wearing that, then I've got my Seiko orange monster on. Another solid diver

Great watch! That Citizen is my favourite too. A tough and almost maintenance free watch.

My every day do it all watch. The bracelet is unbeatable and the lumes are amazing. Hard to beat for the $$$$.

Wow, Eric, that is impressive lume on the Seiko monster! I hear it's quite the watch. :)

I'm a Seiko fan myself. On most days I wear the SNZG11:

Damn I want an orange monster now!!! anyone know how much a service w/ pressure test is with seiko in the US? I haven't had mine serviced in ages and the crown is a bit dinged up so want to see about getting it resealed and tested.

I recently pressure tested one of my watches when I changed batteries and it was about $35 or $40 Cdn so I don't see it being any more than that for you in the US. I'd guess about $30 US tops.

Cheers! will definitely get it done soon then.

Much as love nice watches---mine are increasingly being left behind----with the clock --and all the other functions of my new smart phone.

My watches are just becoming dead weight---I'm already weighted down with 2 knives--lighter (don't smoke anymore)--carmex stick---2 sets of keys (work/home)--pens--phone---wallet---flashlight---money clip.

See what I mean about lightening the load.

Other than being a fashion accessory and checking the time at a quick glance, I love experiencing the mechanical wonder of an automatic watch. I doubt I'll ever go back to batteries which have failed me in everything from watches to phones.

The other thing I find extremely handy is the bezel on dive watches. I use them to time all kinds of stuff from how long food has been in the oven or on the grill to how long my boy is in timeout.

Nice Sinn! I'm thinking about getting an 856 tegimented one myself...but that U1 is making me think...

Servicing a mechanical watch always costs more than replacing a battery.

Any opinions on nylon Maratac straps versus rubber? I've noticed a lot of people changing out their watch straps for the nylon, but Gshock people always keep the rubber. My Truglo needs a new strap BAD. Thanks!

I prefer the rubber strap to the nylon. I found the nylon too bulky with the metal strap retaining rings. You just have to be careful when cutting the rubber strap to size. I cut mine a bit too exact on my 22mm Maratac.

Does the watch glow that brightly all the time like Luminox or Traser or did you charge the face with a light? Thanks and nice photos.

Hey Jack, this doesn't have tritium dials like the Luminox or Traser. I charged the lume with a flashlight before taking the pics. Seiko apparently makes some of the brightest lume in the industry. That was one of the main selling features of these watches for me. None of my other watches glow anywhere near as bright as these two Seikos, including my KHS H3 UZI Protector Tritium Watch (which is what I bought the two Maratac bands I reference in my previous post for).

If I may comment also since I own a BM as well, the lume does have to be charged from a light source but it is very sensitive. I can walk outside for 15 sec. on an overcast day then walk back into a dim room and the watch will be glowing bright. It's a major selling point for this watch and it will spoil you and raise your expectations.

I just received a companion to my monster, a Seiko 6309 diver. It's been relumed by Kent Parks and is almost comparable to the Black monster. I couldn't have it any other way.

Nice 6309!!! That is a great watch!! I have one that my dad got in the early 80s and it has not been serviced in over 20 years. It runs less than 10-15 seconds slow a day and is still get as many compliments as my more expensive watches. (I should get it relumed...it still glows better than most watches but I know it could be much better)
