What watch do you wear?

When I wear one, which isn't often these days...it's usually this:

That's my all time favorite watch. I owned one for awhile, but with the bracelet that looks more like an oyster. Maybe it's called a speedmaster bracelet. I also owned the black version, the 2254, and the white version, the "great white" 2538. I actually had all 3 at the same time but eventually sold them because I'm not a person who feels at ease wearing expensive watches and I used the money to fund other hobbies.

I bought mine as a gift to myself the year I was preparing to put in my papers to retire...purchase a new home...and move.

Trust me when I tell you, it's a lot nicer than the one I got from Homeland Security.

Nice strap, drj211 drj211 , I like it.

I was disappointed that I got a Homeland Security watch at all, since I was a legacy Treasury agent. At least I got out before they issued the new badge and creds.

Oh, here's the watch for a laugh. (It wasn't an official retirement gift, it was sent to me by the gal who used to handle trinkets to share with other agencies, foreign and domestic.)

I'm glad I spared some other agent the embarrassment of receiving it. LOL.

Is that a real Ronex?

Some days it is a Aquastar Regate other days it is a Cartier Francaise.

I’m not Blues Blues , but I’d have to say no. Rolex isn’t known for doing specialty watches. At all. Breitling used to, Bremont still does, I think. And I think Omega will. There’s also a Swiss shop that will do just about any watch face design. They did one for USNTPS. I think all of theirs are quartz. And this one appears to be quartz. That Swiss shop does fantastic watches, and much less expensive. I’d guess this one might have come from there. But I can’t remember the name.

Just an Apple Watch Series 4.

It's done everything I've needed it to... Lasts about 3 days without charging still, and I never miss a call or text!

Well maybe it's some kind of secret squirrel deal. You know like classified.

But full disambiguation I did ask if it was a Ronex. Not a Rolex.

He was making what he thought was a "funny". It's a cheap watch made by a company called Selco I believe.

The strap is Kevlar and water resistant. It has lasted quite a few years. I use the Omega as my back up timer scuba diving off WPB.

When I lived on Key Biscayne, (which is where I was living at the time and purchased the watch), I did all of my diving with an inexpensive Casio that took years of abuse without flinching. (Mostly wreck and reef diving all over South FL. Some in the Turks & Caicos and Mexico.)

Not much diving around these parts without a good bit of driving to the coast.

OK a "Selco" watch is even funnier than Ronex watch or Sorny TV.

You can just see the folks in procurement getting the word to order 2000 watches and one of them is like "hey I think my uncle had a nice watch, the name started with Se, and ended in o". And then the rest is history.
