What watch do you wear?

I need to own an Orient.
Please keep us posted on your impressions of owning an automatic.
There are various Makos that are very popular, and also the new Kamasu. I like my Kano because it is a little larger and overall it is a simpler style with hands that I like. I have no complaints about the way it works.

RubberB today.

Well maybe it's some kind of secret squirrel deal. You know like classified.

But full disambiguation I did ask if it was a Ronex. Not a Rolex.
DOH! OBVIOUSLY I cannot read. Sorry for the response.

In my defense... I probably COULDN'T read it, or at least not well enough to notice the n vs. l. Noting the time I posted, that would have been laying in bed reading my phone with my glasses off. And probably after a bit o' bourbon. We're lucky I even spelled anything right! :D

It occurred to me that I've never taken a group picture of my meager watch collection. Finally got around to it today.

From left to right:

Casio G-Shock GA-800-1A. Quartz
Ball Railroader. Quartz
Pulsar 3293. Quartz
Citizen Promaster Tough. Solar/Quartz
Orient Ray 2. Automatic
No name watch that my employer gave me for 25 years of service. Quartz

Don't have it but I keep looking at the Momentum Torpedo Pro Eclipse and I need a good rugged watch that I don't have to remove to go swim or canoe or be on the lake/river with.

We go on the boat, divers watch normally comes off. My wife accused me of fretting over tan lines😆
Well, there is that😎, but I lost a pair of Porsche design shades overboard, and don’t want to accessorize the River any more!!

Greetings,
Been wearing the G-Shock daily for about 5 years now I forget it when wearing gloves and working with high vibration tools but, it takes it and I'm suprised it hasn't suffered any major scratches. Have been thinking about a solar or kinetic charging mechanism so not to be dependent on batteries or at least those that have to be proactivly changed annually. Also have a Seiko chronograph that is camera shy right now also. Its getting harder to find jewelers who keep the right battery in stock for the Seiko, its in great shape but about 40 years old.

I used to do a lot of bicycling and I would get some unusual tan lines on my hands.

I have lots of beater watches that I didn't pay a lot for, and I wear most of them on NATO straps so there is double security against losing one. I did lose my watch one time when I went off the road on a sharp high speed turn. When I realized I lost the watch I drove back and found the watch in the grass.

That tan would happen to our kids with ball gloves.😆
Metal bands worry me, needlessly I’m sure. I have a NATO that I enjoy. I never gave any thought to changing them out..but will. Glad you mentioned it.

I wanted a Junghans Max Bill quartz several years ago but was having a hard time justifying that kind of money for a quartz, and then being afraid to wear it. Ended up looking at the Junkers watches from Pointtec. Pointtec were in the middle of a changeover from Junkers to Iron Annie because of marketing disputes with Junkers, who wanted to start making their own watches in-house. At least that’s how I understood it. Anyway I grabbed a Pointtec Iron Annie about three years ago and I’ve been very happy with it. It’s what I wear most often these days.

The others are a 1957 Hamilton StormKing V and a 1940’s-era Movado.

Here's a bit of fun - managed to track down a mint Swatch Scuba 200 of the exact type that I originally bought as a teen in 1996 (I remember it had 'Atlanta '96' Olympic stickers on the boxing).

This watch got me interested in analogue dive type watches and illumination. The next analogue watch I bought about 10 years later was a Traser P6500 with tritium illumination. That sadly eventually died and then in 2015 I bought my current P6600.

I decided to start wearing a watch again and wanted something simple and traditional looking. I was drawn to field watches and settled on the bertucci A1R. It’s not expensive so I won’t have to worry about banging it around while working. I bought a few nato straps too cause I liked the colors.

I was looking at the Bertucci. How do you like it so far?
