What wild animals concern, worry, or even scare you ?

I don't usualy run into too many highly dangerous animals where I'm from, but bears are on the list of things to look out for. Most of the time when I'm out in the wild I'm leary of strange people, you hear so many stories of wierdos in the woods.

Bears. not so much now that i moved to central Alberta. and not so much that they where a big concern where i lived before in northern Alberta. Its more of a phobia for me. i have been ridiculously close to a few big black bears before(unintentionally). and once i stumbled upon a fresh kill while hiking, thankfully the bear was no around or decided not to show itself and i got out of there without incident. I just don't like bears, they scare the beejeezuz out of me. My solution is a slew of bear bell on my packs, bear spray and shout out loudly every couple of minutes to let them know exactly where i am.

Around here coyotes and rattle snakes. There have been a few instances of coyotes running in packs here. Some have even snatched dogs while being walked on a leash. I had one in the middle of my backyard, 20 feet from my back door in the middle of the day. I see rattle snakes while walking in the park with the dog. Usually people are pretty good about warning you when you pass them, but being the first one to find it is unsettling.

ETA: Loose dogs. Lots of dogs being turned loose when people have lost the houses. Or just run aways. Never sure which ones are friendly or want a piece of your hide of your dogs.

While out in the Ozarks or Ouachitas, venomous snakes and bears worry me a little.
While out riding my KLR650, deer are a big worry I always keep in the back of my mind.

Ticks mostly. Blacks bear are getting a lot more common around here so I do think about running into a mother and cubs in the woods.

Rattlesnakes mainly, bears and cougars too, though it is rare that you will encounter em.

I've never actually seen a tick where I live knock on wood.

Other then people I don't really fear anything. I would say all animals are a concern but I don't fear them unless they're doing something hinky. Rabid and/or humanized animals is what worries me. Not necessarily a specific species.

Mountain Lions....

They tend to enjoy anything from you house cat, to your neighbors kids...

Usually by the time you see one, you F$#ked. :foot:(thats a green faced mountain lion eating you foot :D)

Yeah, F that.

Ticks and hornets/wasps scare me the most. I see a few bobcats running around in my woods and I found their den but they don't bother anything. They are beautiful animals to see.

Fear? No. Respect? Yes......there are many things that can hurt you but the ones I can't stand are fire ants and cockroaches. I was on a small island in the Florida Keys and it was crawling at night with cockroaches and sand fleas.....I made a hammock out of desperation.....
