If you had 200 dollars to go knife shopping, would you buy one good knife, or multiple decent budget knives? I have several options in mind but I would like to hear your opinions. I’m open to any ideas within my budget.
You have several options in mind, which is nice...
But are you looking for folder or fixed? And what role are you looking to fill?
I’m leaning towards folders at this time for my carry rotation. Not to sure about steel but I enjoy sharpening so I may avoid the premium grade powder steels. I would like to keep the blade length around 3 to 3.5 inches. You need to 1st determine what you plan to do with the knife.
You need to 2nd decide folder or fixed, and what steel.
Then you need to pick out the knife, and save for that knife.
I'd go for one large fixed blade and 2-3 decent folders
I have a small collection, so I’m just adding to it. Thanks for the suggestion.Adding to a collection, or trying to start one? Four 50$ knives will tell you which direction to look before you get to the $200 one.
Middle of the road collection already, two 100$.
Bugout is a nice light one.
Exactly!!! I don’t need another, I just love knives, and I enjoy shopping for them. I like reading suggestions from like minded folks to give me something to think about. Thanks for the suggestions.I'm assuming since you've been around long enough, NEED is not the driving factor here. I'd definitely get a Sprint run or similar really nice folder like that DLC 20CV Manix 2 or whatever that one was I missedand a small fixed blade like a BK-14. That would have been my picks
Maybe sub the BK-14 out for a nice Civivi or Tangram just to try something different!
