What would you do?

I just picked up a Kershaw Bareknuckle and a Maserin slip joint. Sweet knives. You'd still have enough left over to get something to eat.

Put the money in the bank if I can still justify it in a few weeks I buy it. Also learned to spread out the knife purchases so I take time to enjoy them. If I buy several at once I will typically only use my favorite of the lot and the rest collect dust. Did that by buying a bunch of Rough Riders to test new patterns a few years ago.

But that's just me. I'm cheap or thrifty, pick one. Not as bad as before but by most people standards I still am.

That Massdrop Keen is a nice one. I’ll do a little more research on it. Thanks

Massdrop has an exclusive on the Laconico Keen. WE Knives produces it. It is currently sold out. Place a request on the site for it. They will likely have another run available soon. There are nearly as many requests currently as the ones already sold.Search on this site. There is a multi-page thread.

I have two my wife and I both use, and may buy another to keep unused.

It is well under your budget in any configuration offered.

ZT 562 was my first thought too.

CS Ultimate Hunter $115 + Case Tribal lock (I prefer locks over slipjoints) $60

Multitool user? SAKs? Knife + multitool is a great combo too. Ton of options if you go that route.

Hard to know without knowing what you already have.

I prefer locks as well. My favorite is probably the liner lock. Outside of work I rotate between the Ontario Rat 1 and an older Tim Wegner BladeTech ProHunter Magnum.

If your taste is modern folders, I'd buy one good one. If I had any money left over, I'd fill in with a Rough Rider traditional, for giggles.

Just went through this myself.

I reckon the first thing I would say is, have you experimented much to determine what you like? Life is short, try different things to make sure you're not missing out on something you may well want to carry. Within your parameters of course.

That said, in my recent case, I had one nice knife lined out that I want. I wanted a very specific model and it had been out of stock for a while but I noticed a few days ago it was available. Went to buy it and it was already out of stock again. I had no idea it would go that fast.

So... I ordered three different Case knife patterns instead. Can't wait for 'em to get here! :)

I’d would probably buy a GB2 as well. It’s near top of my list and I’ve yet to even handle one. Though if I saw the right fixed blade I’d jump on that without thinking. There’s a maker here, Jamall, if I saw he had a new list up I’d probably snag one of his in Vanadis listings. I really dig most of his designs and I haven’t tried that steel out either.

All depends how many knives owned. What is the purchase going to be used for. What your interests are.

I hit a point where I had some good knives but nothing above a $100. So I spent the $200 on a good one. Then spent about the same on the next two. Then, and still, I bounced all over. Some $200-250, some $50-60, $100.

Circumstances apply.
