What would you like to see Buck make??

I'd like to see Buck offer their 300 series with jig bone handles (especially the 303 and 309). I know these have been done in the past, but I'd like them to be offered regularly.

Also, I'd like to see Buck make a big club and smash who ever designed the company's web site, the Metro, the Approach and the Navigator. :barf:

From what I´ve been reading on all replies, the most used word was: BG-42.
I also would buy several of Buck´s models in BG-42 and until now, haven´t had the courage of "risking" ordering a new model and not getting one of the "first 500". I mean....I have "tons" of ATS-43´s.
Truly, I would actually re-buy some of the models I already own in 420HC if it was offered in BG-42!
So I guess I´m puzzeld too: if so many people want BG-42´s, why is the offer so limited?
Or maybe we´re all wrong: the "collector" demand is very limited (around 500) and Buck knows it, so they work for the common-man (mmmmmm......am I trying here to hurt some "egos"? )
You see, it does´t really matter if the REAL fans are few. We are the ones who keep the "great" adjective alive! The Viper wasn´t planned to be a financial success; it was planned great and "affordable" (i.e. just on the "cost-return" line) so eeeeevvveerryyyboddyyyy would turn their head, towards Chysler. And it worked (that´s what they paid $1kk/year to Iacoca to do).
I would LOVE to see Buck do something like that; something that costs around 300-400 (production cost, that is) and offered at that price. Whoever can afford it, would feel thay´re getting a $1000 knife for ONLY $380. And of course....eeeeevvvveeeryybbooddyyy would talk about Buck.

My dream knife:
**All integral construction (blade, tang, butt & guard) from one piece of BG-42 bar.
**stainless damascus scales    with blue iodized titanium spacers.
**full filework (blade-top, damascus-scales & titanium-spacers)...(I think I´m passing the 300-400 border here but hey, it´s MY dream and somebody asked what would I like to see Buck do)
**4.5" blade, 9.5" OAL.
**Buck logo CARVED on the butt.

And of course, it can not be a "limited edition". Eeeevvvrrryyybbboooddyyyy has to DREAM on saving $400 to buy the damned knife!

Regards from Mexico,
Ricardo

I, too, would like to see some of the 100's and 300's in non-stainless steel. The classic Bucks are my favorite, and haveing them available in carbon would be great.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing some flat grinds on some of your blades. I think, for example, the 186 Odyssey would benefit from a flat grind. The 300 series may, too.

And do away with vacuum-sealed plastic packaging. That stuff is evil. I don't know how often I have cut myself on the stuff trying to open a knife, or anything else. Use boxes! :)

Now that this thread is going so well, I will just throw in another idea.

Take the Buck Big Sky, make the the blade a couple of inches longer. Replace the wood handles with G10 or something similar. The sheath should be like the one delivered with the Buck/Strider solution fixed blade or maybe a kydex one. Furthermore it should have serrations on the spine of the blade (for rope cutting). And finally the blade should have black coating as an option.

I realize the trend is for the hi-tech products and I have a couple of those and like them. I would vote for a special series of 300s. I have a limited edition 303 with jigged bone handles and love it. What about a 300 series in smooth yellow, stag, different types of bone or even a pretty jigged delrin? An Amber bone would be wonderful since I have a daughter named Amber and other knife makers have come out with what they call Amber bone. A Buck Amber bone would be great. I would love to have a 303 variation with the clip and sheepfoot blades (the two blades I use most also it would be thin for the pocket)and round bolsters (pocket friendly)in some really neat handle material with carbon or stainless steel. I would like to have a Buck in the carbon so it could develope that "patina" that only comes with the carbon steel. I like the hi-tech but love the traditional slip-joint pocketknives. Old fashioned I guess. No matter what Buck makes they are great products from a great company and the best costumer service in the business.

Ditto. I hope they actually make this one. Especially the tanto.

A BG-42 Nighthawk should be just the right thing, if it is a model without serrations.

I just remembered a post where the production of a intrepid with a clip-point blade is being disscussed as a serious production option. Has this idea been forgotten or are there still plans about producing such a knife??

If not I think Buck should start producing it. I know I would buy one.

I love Buck knives and would really appreciate it if they would come out with the Master Series Vol. II just for Club Members. Same green handles, but use d2 ors sv30v or whatever for the blade material. I'll tell you what..I'll start saving right now. hehe thanks, rob19

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: A redesigned Buckmaster! I got one as a gift when I was younger (Yes, in the height of the Rambo era!) And I used the heck out of that knife. I'd like to see one a little lighter, with a longer blade and a redesigned lightweight sheath, like Kydex. I know these aren't in vogue right now, but there is still a big market for it.

The Duke, Squire, etc... series knives in a flat grind and with BG-42, VG-10, or High carbon blades

I would like to see Buck make a few small modifications to the Carson Intrepid series of Dive knives. 1) They must change the steel, try a Titanium or maybe this new S30V everyone is talking about, but change the steel. What is currently being used is not working at all especially in Salt water enviroments. 2)How about a clip point blade, much more practical and you would not get as many dirty looks from customs officer especially in foreign countries where alot of diving takes place. Thanks

Also, with a 4 1/2" blade.

Damascus anyone?
