What would you like to see Buck make??

The 110 has been a huge success story for Buck for 30 years. Maybe it's time for custom upgrades such as bringing back the use of high quality tools steels and perhaps changing that clip point to a drop point.

Mike
If you have not heard, Buck is one step ahead of you on the tool steel.PCKS.
Rumor has it that D2 tool steel may be on the way.
Speaking of...Hey Joe, where is our D2?
Jeff

How about making those black plastic handled pocketknives with BG42 blades? Maybe use G10 for the handles instead of the black plastic?

A drop point, deeper belly with a longer blade maybe? (a full 4")

What about a Buck/strider in 420HC (bead-blast finish).
Should look like a strider MT only with some G-10 slabs.

I've eMailed Buck directly, before joining the forum, but I'll repeat it here. The Buck/Strider series in True-left form. If Strider can do it (charging an extra hundred--with 8-9 month waiting period), then Buck can do it charging proportionately less and with less waiting time. I've got 3 out of the 4 now (swapped the studs and dropped the clips), but would buy another whole set in true-left. Any other lefties feel the same?

What about a Buck 110 with nickel-bolsters and and the scales should be made out of the same rubber-material which is used in the Vanguard.
That would be really great as a fishing-folder.

How about a 525 with carbon fiber scales like the 181 Odyssey came in. Make it the same thickness as the 525AM American Eagle.

All of the 300 series slip-joints in 1095 steel and jigged bone scales. And bring back the flat ground blades on those.

The Intrepid in a spear point with ATS-34 or BG-42 non-serrated satin finished blade with either G-10 or black diamond wood scales.

Make standard 110's and 112's available with either ATS-34 or BG-42 blades. Stick those in stores and watch 'em sell. I'll bet a 119 in BG-42 would be a hit as well. (I'd buy one for sure.) :)

A "Texas" Diamondback with 5-5.5" stainless drop point blade. I like the blade/handle on the existing Diamondback, just want one with a slightly longer blade as we're allowed up to 5.5" blade length here in Texas. Why not call it the "Texas" Diamondback?

Agree on the clip point or spear point Intrepid......great idea.

Question though....is the Intrepid being phased out??

Second agreement....New handles on the 119 - New design or new material.

What would I like to see Busk make?
Well, to start I'd love to see Buck a knife very similar to the Loveless 4" drop point hunter. First choice in steel would be S30V. If not then BG42.
How about a 112 with S30V or BG42 blade and thin the handle to about 1/2 the current thickness, with stainless bolsters.
I'd for sure buy at least one of each!

I'd love to see Buck make something appropriate for Boy Scouting. As it is, the Guide to Safe Scouting prohibits scouts from using lock back knives with blades longer than 2 1/2 inches, i think. that eliminates the 110, and the 500s. sheath knive are also prohibited. so i'd like to see something similar to a SAK, with 420HC blades that arn't too big for an 11 year-old to use. Perhaps Buck could get a contract making knives for BSA Supply Division www.scoutstuff.com. those things are absolute junk.
