What would you like to see Buck make??

I would like to see a knife just
a little larger than the 112 (4 3/8")
with a full 3 1/4" cutting area. 112 has
poor blade to handle ratio. A handle about
1/8" slimmer and a titanium frame or some
other lighter material to reduce weight.
Wood scales could be retained for warmth.

I think this would correct the two main
complaints about the 110 (It is too large
and heavy) and provide the most popular
cutting length for everyday use.

How about;

Buck 112FG
Nickel Silver Bolsters
Second cut bone scales,not dyed
BG-42 or :D Grey Ion Fusion blade :D

In my humble opinion, the perfect knife!

In my youth, the 112 was my constant companion. It should be given a millenium rebirth in titanium and BG-42. I'd also like to see the new version sans nailnick - it just isn't necessary on this knife and it would seem to be an added machining expense with no worth to the end user. My 112 I had as a kid had no nailnick.

I'd also like to see a couple timeless classic patterns offered in the Buck name ... like a sodbuster and a congress pattern knife. I'd also like to see a Buck whittler. Imagine the three aforementioned with some nice cocobolo or rosewood scales and the timeless classic long pulls instead of the dam* nailnicks.

I am very impressed with the Buck Strider series. There are quite a number of people on this board who are interested in buying more Buck Striders. I am one of them. I hope Buck is monitoring this thread. I think the Buck Strider series is an affordable purchase for our low paid U.S. military personel.

The Selector? I get more interest in that long discontinued knife! I often carry one in my hunting pack too. Very practical knife. My wish is to see it reintroduced in a new handle. It could be just the 110 or a completely redesigned model.

As a good general use outdoors knife, perhaps Buck could make a version of the WWII quartermaster knife. In a high end stainless with Buck's standard synthetic handle it would be as near indestructable as needed by most people and would resist almost all environments. It would serve from salt water diving to desert camping and most things in between, including military use. Of course, it should also be offered with a stacked leather handle and leather sheath for those of us who like such things.

I would like to have a Vanguard with a full flat or convex (Moran) gind, of BG42.
Also a Nighthawk 650BK with a full flatground blade with the option of BG42 and something like 52100.

I'd second the flat ground Nighthawk. What I'd really like to see is Buck produce a series of Bowies aimed at the cowboy shooting crowd. Maybe carbon steel or HC - they don't have to be ATS34 or BG42. Something not tactical and affordable.

Something similar to a SOG Tomcat or Katz Cheetah but only smaller. About a 3 inch blade and a 4 inch handle. It would be a cross between high tech and traditional. It would need to have steel bolsters on both ends yet be thin enough to feel comfortable. Kind of like the Buck Slimline Series knives. The price range would be 50 dollars for the lower end steel and 100 for the high end.

I like the idea of more variations available for the custom 110 line. Also, some exotic or hi-grade Bowie knife variations would quickly wind up in my safe.

I'm blown away that the Buck company owner regularly weighs-in with ideas and opinions on this forum. That customer contact keeps me a regular Buck customer as much as anything.

A 110 in either BG-42 or S30V with G-10 inlays, pocket clip, and dual thumb studs

This is my dream knife, I don't really care who makes it.

It would be a collaberation of Buck, Spyderco, Benchmade, Strider.

I'd like to see a knife with Buck-Strider type titanium liners and that grippy g10 scales and handle. The BS blade is good, although I think gin1 steel would be better. Axis lock instead of a linerlock, spyderco hole instead of thumbstud.

maybe the blade a tad bit thinner.

I'm a big fan of the Buck Odyssey. But, on all three of my Odysseys (181,182,182) I've altered the tip. The tip on the Odyssey is too narrow and pointy. The tip as it comes is rather specialized, being very good for staight-on penetration or stabbing, but not as good for general utility. I alter the shape of the tip slightly, making the tip a little wider and having the edge turn up a little bit at the tip, giving the tip edge a small amount of belly. This modification shortens the blade at the tip by 1/8" to 3/16" of an inch. I'd like to see Buck change the Odyssey's pattern slightly, making the tip more like my modification but without shortening the blade at all.
Also, I'd like to see a knife with the Odyssey handle and a regular drop-point pattern blade, in ats-34.

The Strider AR in S30V, same spec, same size, but made by Buck. I would want there to be no difference in any way... except price!:D

To much to ask? You did ask!

Is it possible?

I would like to see a liner lock version of the 110. That is same bolsters and insert with a steel frame and ats-34 blade.
