What would you Think or Say when you see...

Recently, I saw that a BF member stated he had no slipjoints. Huh? A knife nut without a single slipjoint? What is this world coming to? I love my SAK's like I love my "tactical" folders, as I love my slipjoints.

I love my fixed blades, my locking folders, my multitools & my SAK. These are all tools and there are times when each is the best tool for the job. I would not chop wood with my SAK and I would not use my BK-9 to open a package around non-knife people.

it is very useful, adequately performing, and non-agressinve looking around non-knife-people.

My SAK is the same. In fact because I am a computer tech and the Victorinox Cybertool was designed for computer techs - describing it as very useful would be a huge understatement. I find my Cybertool to be more than adequately performing - both blades are above 'shaving sharp' and if one gets blunt from too much use then I can always use the other, when I get home it wont take long to get both blades sharp again. In urban life it is illegal to carry a weapon in this country, so far with around a decade of EDC no one has suggested that my SAK might be considered a weapon - no problems with non-knife people & my SAK. My BK-9 is OK when camping, but I'd probably get arrested if I carried it as an EDC in the city - getting it out of its holster in front of non-knife people would probably cause a panic.

My SAK is a tool that I just don't like leaving the house without! If I see someone else carrying one then I am happy that they carry it but sad that more people don't - everyone should have a SAK as an EDC tool.

... non knife anthusiast equiped with just an ordinary Swiss Army Knives...

so when you see it in use, what would cross your mind or what would you say to them?...

I actually wouldn't think it's anything out of the ordinary. I used to carry this one in my dopp kit when I was traveling

and I always have a classic on my key chain.
I also carry one of these as well.

I have many, many much more expensive knives than my alox SAK Soldier, yet it is as often in my pocket as all the rest combined, simply because it is very useful, adequately performing, and non-agressinve looking around non-knife-people.

thanks dagon... I'm a BIG fan of your knives review!... and yes i love hoe you review the alox soldier... i wish you have more victorinox knives to review... keep up the awesome work!

I've carried a SAK in one form or another for the past 40 years or so. It is part of my regular EDC that includes a good Stockman, and a large tactical folder. # knives each day!!

Unless it was someone I knew, I probably wouldn't say anything.

But here's what I'd be thinking:

Now there's someone with a good taste in pocketknives.

I carry a Victorinox myself... ;)
