Just interested in some feedback from W&S on this monster nessmuk I made.

All comments welcome!

If this was yours....what would you use it for? what limitations does it have? What would be its strong points?

The knife is 1/4" 5160, 2.5" tall at the "hump", 8.5" of cutting edge, 13.75" overall. Flats have a forged finish, bevels are flat-ground and have a satin finish. Handle is pomelle sapelle with black fiber liner, brass corby bolts & lanyard.

Thanks!

Bit big for skinning but I bet there's not much else it couldn't do. Good cross between a cleaver and a nessmuck. It's funny but a lot of early wilderness knives looked an awful lot like the kitchen knives we use now.

Great looking knife while staying quite functional.

Two Words:

MEAT CLEAVER!

Send it my way, I'll give it a full work-out, and a full 2 page report. :)

Well, definitely looks like a helluva chopper. Looks like it would handle any camp chores nicely. I wouldn't mind strapping it to my pack that's for sure :D

I would use it mostly for camp/kitchen tasks, A strong point for me would be the width of the blade and number of positions along the spine that the blade can be held for different tasks such as fine chopping and diceing of herbs, onions, vegeatables etc.

My first impression is a good kitchen knife. I use a Chinese cleaver a lot for chopping veggies. You have given it enough belly to be a good slicer and I'm sure you could skin the larger flatter areas of big game with it. From the dimensions it should make a good baton rig too. Nice lines.

I assume you made it-- what was the purpose you had in mind?

Great looking knife, Dan.

Just might be my favorite of yours yet. :)

Pit dog...you stole my answer...nice blade what wouldn't you use it for would be a more apt question back it up with a folder and a saw and your good to go brother.

I'm not a fan of large knives but that one sure does get my attention. I don't think that there is much you could not do with that. Awesome

Very nice knife. IF I was processing large game Elk, Bear, Moose ,that is the knife I want VERY NICE.
