What would you use this for...

Really nice Dan.

I have to say my first impression was "This looks more like a santoku than a Nessmuk"

Or maybe it's just because I need kitchen knives at the moment rather than camp knives :p

Least expensive handle would be Natural Micarta. Email/PM me for a price. Thanks!

cybrok = a Nesstoku?

:D :p

Just interested in some feedback from W&S on this monster nessmuk I made.

All comments welcome!

If this was yours....what would you use it for? what limitations does it have? What would be its strong points?

The knife is 1/4" 5160, 2.5" tall at the "hump", 8.5" of cutting edge, 13.75" overall. Flats have a forged finish, bevels are flat-ground and have a satin finish. Handle is pomelle sapelle with black fiber liner, brass corby bolts & lanyard.

Thanks!

Wow, cool knife and very well done. After tying the mooses legs spread eagle with rope from each leg to a tree/bush, open up its belly. Now get your knife and an axe or hatchet. Now use an axe/hatchet to hammer the back of your knife to push the blade up and through the rib cage to open up the upper portion of the mooses chest. It may leave marks on your knife, but who cares, it's a tool and you're putting it to real use.

I still really like that design. Looks like it could go from camp, to kitchen to jungle and beyond.

That is probably the coolest thing I've seen posted on this forum in about a month. How did I miss this thread when it started back in May?

Excellent looking knife! I work in a restaurant and I'd LOVE to have one as my kitchen knife.

friggin cool!!!!

id use it mostly for food prep, but looks like it would make a great camp knife/chopper.

I think it looks like a great meat cleaver.

I'd use it in the kitchen for heavy duty jobs, and for the tougher jobs that come with butchering large animals.

I don't think I would use it for all jobs though: that blade looks like too much of a monster for some finer jobs.

Beautiful lines and workmanship though!

To me the blade looks like a cross between a japanese cleaver and a santoku. I'd make dinner with it.

"Whatt'll it be Vern, light or dark?"
