Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

Yellow Case SodBuster Jr in CV on the way! This will be my first SodBuster, so after researching this and reading many threads, posts and commentaries I've become very impressed with it's reputation as a no-nonsense workhorse. :)

Now for that agonizing "wait" til it arrives...

i don't own a sodbuster and don't plan on getting one. It's not my cup of tea. If any of my traditionals can't handle a job, I use a knife made for tougher chores like a fixed blade.

I have a #73 coming in Cocobolo, cos my brother can't handle opening it, he's getting old now.
Apparently it's not a knife it's a bear trap, ah well I will give it a go .

Got here on Saturday, had to wait 'til last night to put it to work. The bone is a little light on both ends but it gives it a bit of a starburst that I kinda like. The etch on this one is darker than my bull nose but doesn't show up in the pic. Jury is still out on whether to flitz it off or not.

edit: pic too big.

Got a Chestnut CV Peanut on the way to me, it should end up knocking the red bone SS Peanut and perhaps the amber bone CV Canoe out of pocket

Also have a Vic Alox Farmer on the way to replace the saw-less Pioneer

I've been holding strong for a while on not buying any new slipjoints, but the ebony Viper wore me down. I love the look of this knife.

Green micarta #47 Viper and a Black horn Esquire - both incoming. Exciting.

I sure wish I would have jumped on the #47 micarta last night when there were some available. All gone from every dealer I could find this morning!

I settled on the #47 in Indian Paintbrush, should be here next week. My first choice was the smooth white bone though - those were really gone in a flash! I hope one pops up on the second hand....

Many many thanks to liamstrain for a tip that led to a smooth white bone #47 - paid for and on the way. Thank you my friend!!

Finally ordered a Christy knife for my keychain. It's been on my list since I first read about them here and it came to the top of the list. Perfect timing too, as I even got a "you have a knife!" comment at work on a small stockman last week when opening a cardboard box.

Got a hankerin' for a Peanut this morning too, Case Select in moss Winterbottom inbound :D

No problem. I couldn't resist and ordered one too... I'm going to need to sell a few things soon, I think. :/

Ah-ha! Your got "C", didn't you? I had that one in my cart and before I could pay it said it was no longer available. Great snag - I'm glad you're the one who got it!

Another shot... The 55 is 3.5" closed.

I like the Sodbuster Jr. The smooth yellow delrin is very pleasant in hand. The scales are even in shape and have no rough spots or sharp edges. The pins are perfectly flush and so are the brass liners and steel back-spring. There's a very slight gap on one side where the back-spring and pile side brass liner meet. For a $23 working knife it's no big deal at all. The blade is very slightly off-center to the right when closed. Not even close to rubbing the liner, just faintly shy of center.

The blade is quite sharp and nicely polished. The pull is smooth and I'm guessing about a 6 on the scale with nice snap (no half-stop).

All in all a wonderful working knife that's almost like a Bic lighter - you're not too concerned if it gets lost or thrashed.
