Thanks to my good pal Barry (Gunstockjack) and his fine website, I now have a #48 Diamond Jack and a #66 CC HJ6 Harness jack on their way to me!

...

I really need to stop looking at his site... :o

A VCM Crafted patch knife with ironwood or african blackwood covers, whichever of the current offerings sports grain that proves to suit the small handle best. (Vince has a good eye!).....

African Blackwood, it is!

More here.

I really need to stop looking at his site... :o

I may need to stop reading Bladeforums, maybe Teh Internets.

But what fun would that be.

I apologize that my message is abrupt; for whatever reason, BF wouldn't let me post a more detailed message.

Let me know if we can be of further help-- we want to see your knives! :)

P....Thanks for the link. I'm going to give it a try. I'm pretty computer illiterate, so wish me luck.

I have a couple I'm 'patiently' waiting for :)

  • Northwoods Madison Barlow - Clip Point - Ebony
  • Tidioute - #15 EO Scout - Rust Red Jig Bone
  • Tidioute - #15 Huckleberry Boy's Knife - Rust Red Jig Bone
  • Tidioute - #66 Calf Roper Slim - Purple Sage Jigged Bone
  • Tidioute - #47 Viper - OD Green Micarta
  • Norfield Un-X-LD - #47 Viper - Blood Red Jigged Bone
  • Great Eastern Cutlery #47 Viper - Maroon Linen Micarta

After these, I'm going to try to take a buying break for a bit - Hopefully until around February when the next run of Charlows comes out :)

I'm hoping Barry has picked out a super nice Elk#47 Viper for my pre order. Saw the pic on the site today -they are magnificent.

My friend Claudio is building me one of these but in damascus san mai, damascus with stainless forged welded to each side, and some primo stag. Should be done in a few weeks. Really looking forward to it.

Hope you have a large mail box. :) That is a nice list of knives.

Good luck with the break. I hope your will power is stronger than mine.

Haha KBA. Unfortunately it's not... Add a Northwoods Freemont Jack in green micarta to the list :)

Looking forward to seeing that knife, Kris. The stag on that knife is unreal - the only thing I can compare it to is some volcanos I've been close to, with hardened, dark igneous rock above, and molten lava still seeping underneath.
