Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

Just picked up this from the big auction site. After showing pictures to Codger I was reassured it was indeed a Schrade 863 whittler. It's strange as it has no tang stamps, only an very faint blade etch.

Went to the mailbox. A package! Convinced myself that it was just the right size for two Northfield 77 Barlows. Cut open the package with my Radio Jack. Damn! :grumpy:

A math book for my kid. :o

Come on GEC! I need my 77 Barlows!

Major buzzkill! :D

Just won these two. I think the Queen is fairly new but the Elliot Cutlery is turn of the century. I'm really digging these old knives.

I've got a Klauss KC44CM coming in the mail tomorrow. I know it's dirt cheap but who knows, it may be decent. I haven't really found any reviews on them. Guess I'll find out. :)

Both very nice Bill, I picked up a Queen like yours a couple of weeks back and it's becoming a quick favorite:thumbup: Made in 2006 & the carbon blades take a wicked edge;)

Your pics are what made me get this one. Thanks for the info, I really didn't know much about it and I've been too lazy to look it up.

I ordered this Boker Tree Brand Congress last night. I've got a question about it actually. I was reading if the knife does not say "Solingen" on it, it is a fake. This knife says Germany on the sheild. Does anyone know where these are made if not made in Germany? It was $35 online. Pretty excited about it. Anyone else have one?

Sorry to quote myself, but I did recieve this knife above, I sent it back. I won't even get into why, but I'm sure you can guess.

I ended getting a real Solingen Boker Congress and today and the difference is apples to oranges. It's fit and finish is excellent, no blade rub or side to side play. Flawless!!

I've got a Northwoods Madison Barlow(2-blade) with cocobolo covers on order and a Northfield #77 barlow(sheepsfoot blade) with old tan cross cut bone covers on preorder.

Can't beat these frontiers, they're built like tanks and can usually be picked up cheaper than Old Timers. The carbon steel takes a screaming edge!

I'll second that! I think they are one of the unsung heroes, The best kept secret in sharp-edged tools!

I've got two of them and one regularly gets picked over all my others for my daily carry.

I really tried to hold off but I finally gave up and ordered this beauty yesterday, will be my first Mammoth Ivory knife.

Hey, wait a minute!! As a math prof for the last 40+ years, I resent the implications! Broaden your horizons, Scott and SAK Guy; life is even sweeter when knives AND math books both float your boat!:D:thumbup:

Congrats, Bill! You're on quite a roll with the teardrop jacks! Pics of your Simmons, and Paul Hilborn's Marbles, among other EO teardrop jacks that I've been noticing (and lusting after) everywhere lately forced me to order a Colt buckshot bone teardrop jack this evening!! Photo captured from WWW.
