Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

For the first time in a very long while, I actually have 2 knives incoming. A Kabar barlow and a #57 Gepetto Whittler. Thanks Mike and Derrick for letting me use your pics.

I have two Palo Santo TC Barlows coming to me, but USPS seems to have misplaced them for the time being :(

A couple 1920's Remingtons. A stockman and a barlow. Should be arriving soon. (seller's pics)

And a GEC 85EOL in African Blackwood. No picture currently.

I have a #153115 Boys Knife in Antique Yellow Jig Bone inbound, just have the wait of anywhere between 6 & 30 days, agony.

I got an Imperial Campmaster for < $10 shipped on the auction site. It looked really good, barely used I'd say, from the pictures. I know these Imperials were the "value" knives of their day, but they are US made and (as long as they aren't beaten up or dirty) pretty darn nice.

So I'm not the only one they tease!

I don't live in Xanadu, but I think it must be close by.

As one of the lucky ones, I can't complain. I'm just waiting on my new sheepfoot TC Barlow. Thanks to the miracles of technology, I can now follow my knife's progress across North America via the USPS tracking service. I was better off being ignorant. It's like making sausage. You don't really want to know everything that goes into it.

Day 1: Knife leaves Sulphur, Oklahoma and arrives in Oklahoma City.

Day 2: Knife leaves Oklahoma City and arrives about 24 hours later in West Sacramento! It has traveled 1670 miles in just 2 days.

Day 3: My new knife is at the USPS facility just 17 miles east, with a note on the website saying it will go out for delivery the next day!

Day 4: My knife has been moved to Folsom, 34 miles further east, and is now 41 miles from my home. The website says it is going out for delivery.

Day 5: The Postal Service is sending my knife back to the West Sacramento office. But the website says it will be delivered to me today!

Day 6 (Today): Now my knife has been brought the 15 miles west to my Post Office, just 2 miles away.

Like sausage making, I don't understand the details of the process. It could be that this was the most efficient way to move my package 17 miles over 4 days. I am to blame. I should never have clicked the "Track Package" button.

This is torture, but it is self-inflicted.:(

I feel your pain, I now hide tracking emails so that I don't have temptation of clicking it lol.

Can't show/post pictures, but I just ordered a Colt canoe with carbon steel blades, a Buck 389, with wood handles, a Hammer Brand 4 blade canoe with red picked bone, and a Rough Rider Large Coke Bottle, with smooth white bone.

I can tell you that there's hope. Mine disappeared into the USPS system for two days, but were delivered today!

It is interesting to read the above posts about the travels with the USPS, i like to follow my knives on line as they visit all those places i have heard about but will never visit. On average it seems to take a package from the US about five days to reach the UK then if it is handled by the post office it may be delivered in the next day or two, but if Customs & Excise get hold of it then the likely wait is a further week or two, usually with a tax demand plus $11.87 handling charge usually adding a further $20 to the cost of a knife. It is the ones that slip through that balance out all the tax demands, at least that is what i tell myself. I guess that is why we are "Knife Nuts" !!!

Just got a GEC #92 Talon for quiete a deal. Used though, but I almost know the seller ... ;)
